The president is the highest power of the US
unfortunately, only the toughest of the tough can be selected to guard Mr Bush.
if you do want a job in the secret service, all you gotta do is show your tough
Steps
1-write a body guard resume
2-buy a gun
3-track down the president
4-wave your gun and tackle that bitch...when you are on the ground with him....hand in your resume while screaming "accept me or i will set off the bomb"

I think this would actually work... If you can break through his presidential defences you deserve the job.. I'd give it too you
If you want a military career, and then being in the Secret Service protecting the president, I would highly advise you join the USMC, seen as almost all of his guards that aren't secret service, are Marines. Get some Embassy Duty, and im sure being Force Recon would really help you as well.
However, just to let you know, just to even GET embassy duty in the corps, you have to have a clean criminal record, no past or current psychological issues, etc. Basically, you can't have any criminal/moral waivers when you enlist into the service. Thats just Embassy Duty, I couldn't tell you what the requirements are for the Secret Service.

Specifically this, on their FAQ page:
All applicants must submit an OF 612, Optional Application for Federal Employment; an SF 171, Application for Federal Employment; or a resume; or any other application form that includes the information cited in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) brochure OF 510, Applying for a Federal Job. This brochure is available from OPM or the Secret Service Personnel Division. NOTE: Applicants who submit an OF 612, a resume or any other application form other than the SF 171 must also include a Declaration for Federal Employment, OF 306. Further, applicants must respond to the required knowledge, skills and abilities listed in the vacancy announcement."
That's for general employment of course. Presidential Security detail isn't mentioned, I don't believe, and they are probably tapped strictly inter-agency from agents with a proven record.

I was debating on going into the USMC or the Army Rangers. Thanks for the help.
