View Full Version : Your perfect anime
I just started watching Cowboy Bebop again with some friends who have never seen it. It doesn't seem to be as good as I remembered, especially the first couple of episodes. I don't know why I never noticed how bad the dialogue was. It had everyone cracking up over how cliche they were delivered, the fight between Spike and Asimov was still badass though.:cool::cool:
Anyway, looking back at what I used to think was my perfect anime I see a lot of things I'd tweak. If you could change some things to your favourite anime which ones and what would you change?
Edit: I'd probably change Deathnote too and have L come back in some elaborate plot.

I agree on the death note idea, but i would change Full Metal Alchemist to have Ed and Al reunited in another movie cause the 1st one was kinda disappointing. and in Rurouni Kenshin i would take out the stupid arc they made up that wasnt even in the manga and put something actually cool in there. like maybe incorperate a precurser to the movie or something/

True on the Cowboy Bebop thing, I recently noticed that while watching the final two episodes allot of it is just superfluous psuedo-metaphorical crap.
As for the prefect anime, I would make Welcome to The NHK allot longer.
The FMA series and movie is NOT canon!
The manga is STILL ongoing!
That's the true story the REAL author intended!
I would say Code Geass is pretty much perfect for me. I don't think there's anything I'd change at all. Though if Lelouch dies, then that'll all change .
Ergo Proxy could do with a few little tweaks. It's absolutely amazing, but I just felt it needed something a little more. Maybe a little longer in Romadeau with the whole dark, cyberpunk feel to it (I think that's the right word).
On the whole, many animes start off with a really strong episode which encapsulates me, then it gets a bit mediocre. I just wish more things would stay epic throughout, like how Deathnote and Code Geass manage to pull off.

I preferred the ending in the movies, where L writes his name in the deathnote beforehand giving himself 30 days until death, and therefore can't be killed when Rem writes it in to save Misa.
I thought that was genius.
But my perfect anime is Elfen Lied, easily. I would improve it though, by making it at least twice as long.
13 episodes isn't enough dammit :(.

i wouldn't change any of lain.
Fetus, I totally agree with you on FMA. The ending was just too bitter for me and the movie really didn't sit well at all. I felt quite angry that they'd made such a piece of crap to end it.

I would have either had the series end after Rem kills L or had Near lose at Yellow Box and everyone dies but Light and Mikami, then Misora Naomi comes back and kills them. Turns out that she was pregnant with Raye Penber's child and since one cannot use the death note to cause the death of another, it didn't kill her.
Or I would have had everything that lead up to Yellow Box take place in less than 23 days and had L come back to win since he secretly wrote his own name on a page of the death note he removed then faked his own death after Watari deleted all the data.

Anything with bare tits is cool. If it is boring just mute it, like you do with Britney Spears videos.
You're watching the dubbed Cowboy Bebop? lawl
The anime monster is just perfect for me. The character development for the show is simply amazing. I've watched the series 3 times (75 episodes).
never been into anime, really. unless you count the generic DBZ, and of course... NARUTO / NARUTO SHIPUUDEN. duh!

just because it may be "generic" doesn't mean it isn't still anime.

Oh god it hurts trying to think of the perfect anime. If you've seen my ongoing thread about what anime to watch you'll notice that i've seen a decent amount of anime and i have come to the conclusion that there is no single "perfect" anime. Different animes convey different emotions and feelings to me so they all have their own unique quality. I'm still in search of an anime that does it all, i doubt i'll ever find it but hey, it's fun trying to look.
But seriously though, if i had to choose i would have to break it into categories.
Romance:
Hanbun No Tsuki Ga Noboru Sora, Samurai X
Action:
Cowboy Bebop, Afro Samurai
Drama:
GunGrave,
Comedy:
FLCL, Desert Punk
Over all:
Eureka Seven because it contains a little of everything.
Death Note was so awesome when i first saw it.....still is
