Hello,

I'm quite new to pyrotechnics, but im doing my best researching, I've been reading loads on chem, and a lot of stuff on totse. I was wondering what would be a good start. Making Bp i suppose? i read the thread about the guy destorying his kitchen with smokemix so that didn't seem like such a great idea (atleast not inside). I was thinking of buying ammonium nitrate and mxing it with gasoline, but that is simply blowing something up, im more interested in the processes of making different HE compounds. Im open for any and all advice. Thanks :)

I don't suppose the stickied threads reading "welcome, read this first" and "informational links" contain the information you're looking for?

Well, some simple devices to start with are fountains.
Easy to construct, very little danger involved (both in manufacture and use) and you can add various compositions to get special effects (colours, special sparks, ...)

Likely, your first big issue will be getting/making decent fuse.

As for HE's ... not not to tell you there. Read through various synths and see which one you think you're up to.

Sparkling compositions can do with little to no sulphur, provided you get it lit.

The easiest would be to mix in some iron powder with your BP, there's plenty of different compositions out there, and people with more experience with pure pyro than me.
