Were to put on a mood ring? What color would it likely read as?
it seems like green, just because i connect that color with zen. but i have no idea what green actually means on a mood ring.
EDIT: I just look up the chart, green is this: Green is the color of living plants and is often associated with growth. Green is the color of the heart chakra. A green shade to your mood ring might indicate a healing time, a feeling of love, etc. It is generally considered the "average" color for a mood ring.
so that kind of fits.

No, it doesn't. If he's a master, he is centered and has no moods. His mind is clear like a cloudless sky.

It would depend on his body temperature, since that is what those toys respond to.

White. Why? Because although an object is white because it reflects all the colors, the object itself is lacking color because it doesn't absorb any of it. So seeing as enlightenment is "nothingness" basically, that would be a logical thought. But as ArmsMerchant said, it's just a toy. Kind of an interesting question though.

Given that mood rings are essentially liquid crystal thermometers, the Zen master in question would probably have to be stone cold dead in order for his mood ring to register 'enlightened being' status.

Ah! The key to enlightenment! So I just have to kill myself...

I wouldn't say "the" key. There are other means which are far less drastic.

sitting in a freezer for a few days?
Nah, I was thinking more like boring shit like reading, praying, transcending fear, learning to forgive, meditating, spending time outdoors getting close to nature, stuff like that.

could I substitute that for sitting in a freezer for a few days?

Black, because zen masters are like the inane void they idolize. Zen is a cop-out discipline for those too ignorant or prideful to accept the supreme opulence of God.

Take a couple steps back from your assumptions, and put on a bit more pieces of knowledge before you pretend you are walking on the path of wisdom.

if he was a true zen master, wouldnt he have enough control over himself and his surroundings to turn the ring any color he wanted?
but the better question is why would a zen master be wearing a mood ring?

hah, I just realized that at the peak of my best and most enlightening acid trip, I was in fact wearing a BROKEN mood ring
- which was black, lulz

wrong, enlightenment is not about being devoid of emotion but about being filled with emotion and accepting all feelings for their individual uses and expressing yourself in a state containing all emotions at once.
hence the ring would be black

Look, the zen master
See him put on the mood ring
Look, no zen master

Apparently, at least as far as mood rings go, BLACK - TENSE, NERVOUS, HASSRASSED, OVER WORKED. (http://www.moodjewelry.com/chart.html)
If you're right it would seem that enlightenment is a seriously stressful business, which seems odd to me then that so many should try to attain it, whatever "it" is. But then we are talking about a bit of industrial goo that does nothing more than give a rough measure of body temperature.

i was only comenting on a later post that said WHITE because enlightenment was "nothingness" and i was saying how enlightenment was not about lacking emotion but controling emotion...
hence, white= lack of emotion black = lots of emotion
but its all worthless because this entire thread is about what color a mood ring would change when placed on a zen master

On further thought, OP seems based on a fallacy, namely that a Zen master can control his or her moods or emotions.
While this IS true to a degree, one thing that makes a Zen master masterful is being fully aware of his/her moods/emotions and not being attached to them.
