It used to be only 111/11:11 that I compulsively noticed. I saw the movie "The Number 23" a long time ago, and even once I tried noticing it, but it never seemed to show up that much. All of a sudden, after reading a little bit more on it, it's showing up more than the gray hairs on McCain's head.

What's your opinion on this phenomenon? Is it just selection bias?

It's my guess that you see a shit loada numbers during the day, but since seeing the movie your subconscious mind notices this number more, which then draws your conscious mind to take notice.

The movie didn't invent the 23 phenomenon (or 23 enigma as it is sometimes known), it was based on the phenomenon that has been known for a while. And I saw that movie well over a year ago, so it wasn't the movie. If anything, it was the books I have been reading that are well older than that movie.

In my opinion its just a human mind flaw. Your mind is trained to recognize certain this, thinking back to primitive days when you were hunting fuckin crazy mammoths and shit. You are trained to recognize certain things. Say one time you notice a flaw very small on a mammoths toe, and you find that it helps you take down the beast easier. Then in your hunting you start to see that flaw on other animals. Well now we don't have fucking mammoths that we need to survive. When you get down to it, we have money, which is just numbers, and time, so maybe for some reason your mind you pulled one of them and your mind is like, you check it out, theres that important thing. Thats just my opinion, and I've dealt with that issue myself. I am also pretty fuckin high so that might not have come out right.

Since I'm feeling smart today, I'd like to add to this subject that when speaking about matters of the mind, always think back to primeval days. We have a lot of built-in extincts that we don't use anymore, and they aren't just going to sit around chillin and not do anything.

This is a simple case of the Rule of 13's. If your conscious mind notices a number a few times, your subconscious continues to look for it.

Basically the Rule of 13's is like self-fulfilling prophecies. You begin to look for something consciously or subconsciously, and you WILL find it.

See the pattern, I made that connection, not through symbols or whatever, but because my sub-conscious and conscious mind was looking for the number 23. I quite like this.

I've seen 9:11 alot but thats obviously just random. Theres this little carbon monoxide detector we have in the basement and it has these 3 flashing leds that flash one after the other. Every 1000 or so (I have no clue how many) all 3 light up. When I randomly glance over, more than usually I see all 3 lit up.
