This goes to everyone, and isnt a direct bash of a specific religion, etc.
Why do all religion say they want love & peace and then they turn around and go to war with each other?(ie. Germany = primarily christian/catholic, and jews were whatever they are)
Why does everyone believe in religion when it costs more lives then all the wars put together have?

For one thing, many of not most religious folks are down at a stage one state of God-consciousness. (See appriopriate thread for more details.)
They lack the spiritual evolution to see that at the Highest Level, we are All One. They promote one nation or religion over others and fall victim to the illusion of separation.

Even though this is a preachy way of being right, it is right. People separate themselves into groups, it is an us or them mentality.

You've really answered your own question.
If a religion teaches love & peace and its practitioners go to war over those beliefs they clearly are not actually following the teachings of the religion. If you take the crusades, you can see that the catholic church was more worried about losing their power than anything else and then used religion to justify their actions. Those who fight over religion are not the true followers of any peaceful belief system. To be fair you must blame the people and not the teachings which have good intentions.

War gives life a purpose
Anyone who can't come up with a better purpose in life than manifesting hatred, fear, violence, and destruction is to be pitied.
I suspect you would feel differently if you had ever had any personal experience with real warfare. It is ugly beyond the telling.

Pity?! Save yr indulgent pity for yrself, ya' self-righteous fool.
I'm not talking about common material violence.
As it is said, "the only way to progress along the path of knowledge is as a warrior."
War is all about death, making life sacred through the knowledge of death being everywhere, at all times. Only a moment away, this could be yr last breath.
Only in treating the everyday non-things of life as an act of war are we able to hold up against the terrible onslaughts of the unknown, infinity, and God help you if you touch on the unknowable.

War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again, y'all
War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
Ohhh, war, I despise
Because it means destruction
Of innocent lives
War means tears
To thousands of mothers eyes
When their sons go to fight
And lose their lives
I said, war, huh
Good God, y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again
War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
War, it ain't nothing
But a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Ooooh, war
It's an enemy to all mankind
The point of war blows my mind
War has caused unrest
Within the younger generation
Induction then destruction
Who wants to die
Aaaaah, war-huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it, say it, say it
War, huh
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again y'all
War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
War, it ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
War, it's got one friend
That's the undertaker
Ooooh, war, has shattered
Many a young mans dreams
Made him disabled, bitter and mean
Life is much to short and precious
To spend fighting wars these days
War can't give life
It can only take it away
Ooooh, war, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again
War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
War, it ain't nothing but a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Peace, love and understanding
Tell me, is there no place for them today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord knows there's got to be a better way
Ooooooh, war, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
You tell me
Say it, say it, say it, say it
War, huh
Good God y'all
What is it good for
Stand up and shout it
Nothing
War is all about death, making life sacred through the knowledge of death being everywhere, at all times. Only a moment away, this could be yr last breath.
Thats some wisdom, in my opinion.

Man is a profoundly social being and derives enormous satisfaction from feeling himself at one with the other members of his group. War strengthens all the ties that bind the individual to the group and heightens his sense of group solidarity to the pitch of intoxication.
The barbarian and the unconscious sadist are strong within us. So strong that even in peace time news paper proprietors find it worth there while to devote a large proportion of there space to the description of crimes. In war time, half the mornings paper deal with slaughter and most of the rest consist of incitements to hatred on the one hand and to group solidarity on the other.
The first condition of war is that the population of the planet should be divided into organized groups and that each individual should be conscious of his groups separateness from and superiority to all other groups.
The patriot is allowed to indulge, with good conscious in both vanity and hatred. Vanity in regard to his own group and hatred in regard to all other groups.

Religions are of man. They are political institutions that are consumed with power and greed, just like any other political entity. It's no mystery why they do what they do. If I go and kill someone in the name of Wolfy, that doesn't mean that you wanted or gave me permission to kill anyone. It's the same thing with religion and God. I hate religion. I like God.

Here, here. Line mentality, or any kind of 'Us and Them' mentality is my favorite thing to hate right now.
