Don't know if this is the right place for this but here goes anyway.

Does anyone know the penalty (max and min) for getting caught smuggling 7gs of cannabis from England to Portugal by plane?

Cheers.

England:
The maximum penalty for trafficking in Class C drugs has been increased from 5 to 14 years imprisonment. However the ACPO have felt unable to issue guidance as to what quantity constitutes possession as opposed to possession with intent to supply. The decision is left, therefore, at the discretion of individual officers who take into account many factors such as if the cannabis is divided into small bags or wraps, whether the offender has scales etc.

Portugal:

In Portugal, criminal penalties have been removed for the use of small amounts of all formerly illicit drugs, including heroin, cocaine, Ecstasy and marijuana.

Cheers mate. So, taking 7gs isn't really that big a deal then? It's clearly for personal use, since I'll be flying out to meet my parents with my girlfriend (who's the one who actually wants to do this; I'm still a little hesitant). It'll, of course, be in one baggie.

Once we're into Portugal, though, there shouldn't be any problem whatsoever, right?

I wouldn't take drugs on a plane personally, far too much risk. Even if you do get caught and only fined at most, you're still out like $50 for the weed. It can't be that hard to find it in Portugal if it's semi legal there.

That's for possession.

Importation is an entirely different ballgame.
