View Full Version : Help me decide between two watches
Watch 1

Watch 2

I like the buttons on the side of watch 1 better, plus it has 4 yellow things around the rim.
Watch 1 costs $50 more but since I'm already going to be spending $400 on a watch, an extra $50 wont hurt.
I like the color of watch 2 more. It's also cheaper.
Totse, which ofthe two watches would you take?

Second one man. Trust me on this. It'll age more gracefully than the first one as you get older due to it being a more classic design and will fit better with a wider variety of clothes.

precisely
I'd just like to add they are both Citizen Skyhawks Atomic Time watches.
The only difference is color and style.
I do agree with the second post, it does look dressier, but I could use a few more opinions.

Do those have functioning slide rules?

I clicked the links without reading the post so I knew nothing about them.
And my unbiased opinion is for watch 1.
...even though it's $50 more.
It's a nice watch...Quite cluttered though.

The second one looks more classier and elegant as compared to the first.
For myself, I'll choose the second one. But if your the cooler type and want to look a little younger, the first one is the watch for you.

Those watches are not atomic time, it gets atomic time via the radio frequency to keep it updated.
The fact that it uses a radio frequency puts in a delay thus destroying the concept of having atomic time.

I totally agree.
Though the yellow accents look cool now, in a while you'll want something not as loud/noticeable.
I bought a $400 Kenneth Cole a few years ago because I liked the blue buttons... now I wish it were all silver.

I'm looking for sort of that style of watch, or a military surplus watch at a quarter of the price. Does anyone know where I can pick one up?

Personally, I like my watches to be clean and simple.
But between those two, I would pick the second one. The blue and yellow reminds me of an olympic diver or something.

True, but it's as close as you can get without wearing a atomic clock on your wrist. Another point for radio controlled time is not having to set the time manually. Then again, I have such poor reception here, it may be easier to manually set the time than to find a place that can receive the signal, and wait a few minutes for it to sync.
Still, I cant find a watch with a slide rule and so many functions. If anyone knows of one, please direct me to it.

Call me old fashioned... but why the FUCK would you NEED a slide rule ON YOUR WATCH?

Personally I love the yellow accents on the first and think it livens it up a bit, but if you don't wear that much yellow or bright colours day to day it's gonna look a little strange with just a chunk of bright on your wrist and everything else neutal, so you're probably safer with the second. Also agreeing that yeah the 2nd one will last you longer as no doubt you'd get sick of the yellow on 1st no matter how great it is, whilst the other is somewhat timeless in a way (no pun intended).
I like my watch because it's simple
