View Full Version : How To Disprove God

Ok, now i'm not trying to insult anyone here, but if there was a god, wouldn't he be a little more in depth with what was going on in the world? Say, for instance, there is a god. Why would he create multiple religions? If he had meant to create a single religion worshipping himself, why are there 40 million different religions out there all saying that they are the best? If there were a single omniscient all-powerful entity known as "God" why create religions with multiple gods? It just doesnt make any since! And for all you Christians out there prattling on about this Mr. "Satan" and how he supposedly is creating all of these nonbelievers (i.e. atheists, agnostics, hindus, buddhists, shaoists, confucianists, muslims, and the rest) then I just have one thing to say: " Why doesnt God just point his finger at satan and fuckin wipe him out of existence along with the rest of the "nonbelievers"? I don't get it. So, how do you disprove God? By trying to prove his existence. (I'm an agnostic by the way. I think something made us and then gave us up for dead.)

That whole free will/mysterious ways shit :P
The christian god loves you...if you choose that god. Choose any other, and by christian teachings: you are fucked.

In time, the abrahamic god will be seen as what the norse gods are believed to be today.
In my opinion in order to cure the world of this senseless dedication to a ridiculous, outdated collection of myths, regardless which they choose to follow all you have to do is cut out of one generation of religious teaching. I think that if people stopped teaching their children, no brainwashing them from a young age then the child, now grown into an adult will not as willing to accept these beliefs. Sure, some will, but there is a lot of fucked up people out there. The majority won't though, not they're old enough to think about what is being shoved in their heads. Religion is like a plague. Burning the flesh of the dead is recommended.

Thats true. There should be some sort of law preventing parents from forcing their kids to attend religious ceremonies like church. Parents should wait until the kids are 18 and then let them do whatever they want religiously, because it IS brainwash when you force a small child to attend church every sunday and get preached to. Of course, this probably won't happen for a few hundred years. I mean, religion is declining but new religions are coming into existance everyday! And some just don't make any sense at all. Scientology? More like "legal cult". But, people should be able to believe whatever the hell they want.

Like I said, there will always be nutcases and people so afraid of death they will turn to religion. Who gives a shit though? Wikipedia tells me that in the USA 78% of people consider themselves christian, and in Canada Canada 75% do, which actually seems too high. Such a ban would likely drop it down below 10%.

Too bad such a ban would lead to mass riots, attempts at government overthrowings, lots of deaths, and an incredibly large amount of pissed off republicans.

Yeah, maybe after 12/21/2012 when the world is supposedly going to "end".

Atoms group together to form molecules through chemical bonding. Then molecules bind to make cells, cells cluster into tissues, which form into organs, and before you know it you have a living organism. No one level exists where you can say this one process is life.
Putting all those component parts together with an external environment that supplies nutrients and light and other factors, you get an E. coli bacterium, mosquito, peacock, rhinoceros, or a human being.
That would be called the emergent property, patterns in nature that arise as you move up the scale of reference. The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
Eventually we have a higher level of truth than what was before.
Now if we look into things like phase changes, where water can be fluid, ice, or gas, and atoms, beyond certain parameters lose their individuality and act collectively. Maybe the so called 'big bang' was a phase shift? or Eukaryotic cells? Maybe those strange cases that science has no explanation for, like when a tumor disappears within a few days are also due to phase shift?
Maybe the emergent property is setting the stage for another phase shift?
I suppose you could dumb it down and say, "God works in Mysterious Ways."
But that is because we have not yet reached the level of complexity to understand how in-depth the Universe really is.

True. Very true. But whos to say that our "universe" isnt just a part of an even greater multiverse? Or a living creature the size of which is unthinkable to the human mind? We will never know the truth behind the creation of our universe, assuming we live in a universe in the first place. For all we know, we could be the waste of another living thing!

you know, some people see god as just a personification of reality. Meaning it's not some super creator, it's everything we know, touch, see. There is a philosopher, i can't remember his name, that said existence is just a ball and outside of it is nothing. well that ball is god, except i believe the ball is everything and there is no nothing around it. therefore, god is everything.

Why? Should we also make laws preventing parents from teaching their children certain political opinions as well?
Personally, I think we should ban all those games children play. Tag? WTF is that, someone could get hurt playing that.
Alcohol only makes people act stupid. Lets ban it.
Because I have a personal issue with these things, I think the laws should be changed so everyone must do things the way I see fit.

Actually, this is a misconception. Time and/or history as we know it will end, not the world itself.

That's the way it is in China. No religious teaching allowed for children under 18, except they still have problems so, ... maybe not the answer? Perhaps educate children in the salient points and history of all the major religions and let them make an informed decision?

You have a good point here. Maybe thats the way it should be, just let them believe whatever the hell they want.

Wouldn't work, it would be sidestepped by the religious parents, or taught with extreme bias...ideally, yes it would be excellent though..
