View Full Version : Question on warrants?
So my friend was asking me a question and I did not know the answer. I do not know if this is the right section so if not feel free to move but here it goes.
I live In Cincinnati Ohio and my friend has warrants out for his arrest..and it is time for him to renew his license..now if he goes to the BMV to renew it, will they be able to tell he has like 4 outstanding warrants. I did not know if they can run that or if something will come up on the computer when he goes in there.
Does he need to worry...should he just skip getting his license redone? Or will he be ok?
Does the registrar have that info
Depends on what kind of warrants they are...
ok say they were uh grand theft auto..probation violation for 06 offense..and illegal processing of drug documents...aka turning a script in that you "altered" date on

1. Since a drivers license is subject to a clean record. (In the case that the judge suspends your license and you try it anyway) the registar has knowledge about you to prevent illegal renewal. So yes, they know if they shouldn't renew your license.
2. Your friend is a criminal and should turn himself in.
3. Your friend is a criminal and you should avoid contact with him.

Probably not a good idea, if he gets pulled over for speeding, speeding will be the last thing he should worry about if he has other warrants out for his arrest, i suggest him to get a good fake ID, and forget about renewing his license.
yea all these are tru...he just turned 21 and thats why it expired in the first place..not for any driving offenses..
he just doesnt want to have to re take everything when/if he lets the 30 day grace thing expire...
but i think he would just be better off saying fuck it and worry about it when he gets a car again..no need for the license right now..since u can buy alcohol with an expired one..thats all hes worried about

When his information is entered to renew the license his warrants WILL appear.
Failure to renew his license adds a charge of "Driving with license expired" if he IS pulled over and brought in on the warrants.
I also advise your friend to contact an attorney and surrender himself with his lawyer present. Believe me, I'm going to Law School to be a Prosecutor. I would be FAR more inclined to cut a good deal if I didn't have to waste city time/money finding him.

I don't believe so, because renewing his license would be self incrimination.
