While preforming a candle ritual and meditation I pretended to invoke spirits using the pentagram ritual,tracing a pentagram with my finger and I heard a loud crash in the kitchen downstairs.I'm shit my pants.I then proceeded to do the lesser banishing ritual hoping for them to leave.I turned the light and the tv on.My candle is still lit.I m now watching the Olympics still pretty shaken up.Moral of the story is: Don't mess with things that you don't understand.(Don't dabble)

Out of curiosity, what is the worst that could happen?

I have been studying the occult for a while, I have never tried anything, and I am not sure I ever plan to. I just have never seen much on the negative side of it, I just always get "don't mess around with what you donut understand," which I respectfully listen to.

But how will you ever truly understand it if you don't experiment for yourself?

I don't really mess around with spirits of any kind, besides paying homage to my deities where it's due... I usually just stick to personal mysticism. But as far as I can tell...

Even if you did invoke some spirit or another, I don't think there's much to be afraid of, especially if this is the first time you've brought something like this about. From my own experience, it takes a lot of energy and intent to bring something from another realm of perception/probability into this one.

The chances of something you invoked overpowering you materially is slim, as are the chances of it affecting your life in any distinctly negative way. From my own experience, entities with enough energy to do that (deities and the like), really don't care about us as much as we think they do. Sure, the power is there, but where's the intent?

If it bothers you that much, cast whatever you think is a protective/cleansing spell and don't do it again. Personally, I think if you want to keep dabbling, keep dabbling. It's a vague science; expecting specific results is usually a bad idea. But yeah, your material presence is pretty much capable of overpowering that of most relevant subtle energies, and the worst any "harmful spirit" that actually cares is going to do is be a major inconvenience/very slight threat.

(Listen people, this is an opinion. I don't entirely believe in its factual basis myself, and I'm not saying you should, either. I'm pretty much still a kid, I've only been practicing my faith for a few years, and there's a hell of a lot of things I don't know. So if you plan on telling me any of that, you're just being redundant at this point.)
