My dads birthday is coming up, not something a grand celebration usually takes place on, however this one is more of a milestone and as such, he's decided to go for a theme...which is sports.

I consulted with a friend of mine and she believes the ideal costume of mine would be a fox hunter...of course I fell in love with the idea immediately because it means I can get dressed up!

I've spent the last hour or so looking up what I'd actually need and figure (from the bottom up).

Only trouble is, for someone trying to do this on the semi cheap (I'd like something keepable so I have a reserve costume next time something like this comes up)

Riding boots: Since I don't actually own any riding boots, I figure any boots and some half chaps would do nicely. Black chaps though.

Breeches: Don't own any of these either. But I figure if I get some white slacks it will work sufficiently well.

Shirt: From what I gather its just a white shirt with a Nehru collar. I've seen them on the internet for not too much or hopefully I can just drop into a store of ...some kind.

Tie: Seems to require a strange kind of tie called a stock tie. Again, I've seen a few on ebay and aren't too sure where you'd get one otherwise. Apparently a pin is always required.

These preceding items shouldn't be too much trouble. But I'm pretty sure the following one will be:

Coat: Apparently dubbed a 'pinque', at least, the red ones are. Which is what I'd be seeking to wear because its an iconic thing. Where would I be looking to get one of these on the cheap? Black ones are alot more common and possibly easier. I think its essentially a red frock coat, single breasted though. I've not a clue where to find one.

Help and suggestions would be most appreciated.

If I can't find a red one I'd settle for a black and if it all gets too hard I'll find a broom and say I'm from curling.

Just because your father molested you doesn't mean anyone else's does.
