Hey, anybody else from the UK getting their GCSE results tomorrow?

How do you think you'll do?

Post predictions, and then your actual results afterwards.

Also what did you guys take? I wonder if there is any correlation between totse members and school subjects taken?

Personally, i'm bricking it about maths; and i will be pissed off if i have to retake it at college.

Discuss :)

I'm not a child, so no, I'm not awaiting any results.

Maths is a piece of piss. I didn't bother revising, didn't listen in class for the last year of school and I still got a B. And I suck at maths. To be honest, GCSE's were easy, all you need to get into any college course is 5 a-c's, and I got 6 or 7 (can't remember) without even trying.

But good luck anyway - what are you taking at college?

Yeah i hope mine turns out like that!

I'm taking: English Language, Media Studies, Web Design and i'm undecided on my last.

Did you take A- Levels, if so, what were they, and what did you get?

I took a BTEC, so I'm halfway through mine. It's in Media Studies - a lot of fun if you are a creative person, but it is a lot of work.

The unfortunate thing is you're probably still correct about UK education.

IDK, Scottish people still have a certain charm (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=DooVtEM0BUc&feature=related) to them.

after realising that GCSE's really don't matter at all. It's all about attitude and willingness at college, so GCSE's are really there so your friends can judge you and they will decide what social class you get to in college. Basically - fuck GCSE's, well done if you did well but srsly, it's a piece of paper that won't matter if you get AS/A levels..

Don't mind me, i've had a wake 'n' bake..

fuck, Doritos, YES!

I thought it'd be that angry Glaswegian fella...

And yeah, my results come out today too. I'm going to leave when my ma gets back, I'm not sure what I'm expected. 2 A's in English, 2 B's in Science, B/C? in Maths, B in Business, C in Drama, C in French.

They're my only full subjects and therefore the only ones I count.

Also, my sixth form requires 7 C's, but if you've already been through the induction process and you only get say 5 C's, they still let you in.

Good luck to me, I'm really nervous and I don't think I'll get my expected grades.

Good luck to all that are awaiting results I hope they go well for you. They are a bit of a joke though, same with A-Levels, really anyone can pass.

Just make sure you do the right thing after, don't mindlessly go do A Levels if you want to learn a trade.

Congrats. Far better than me.

Cheers. Some schools that would be the best in the year, for me, i came something like 15th.

First in English lit though.

Its all about the stepping stones to other things though, they don't mean shit in reality.

When I did my gcses I kicked the shit out of them. Same with AS, same with uni application, same with A2. In that order.
Got into all 5 universities I tried to.

And I put in such little effort all the way through.

I don't know who you are, what you got or what you're going to do, but at the moment I'm winning.

Also, I know that this sort of smug twat post is annoying to read, but it's fun to write, and better to do get it out of my system here than in real life.

In Ireland we call the GCSE's (or at least the equivalent) the Junior Certificate and your "college" is just the 5th and 6th year of secondary school.

Eh, I don't remember what I got for the Junior Cert and the sheet with my Leaving Certificate results is on the other side of the table and I can't be bothered reaching over.

B's, C's - what the hell is this shit? I thought if you didn't get at least 17 A* the only thing you're going to be studying at Uni these days is media studies.

Done mine 2 years ago.

Piece of piss. Was high for most of them and for the maths no calc test I drank 4 cans of Red Bull before it so after completing it in 40 minutes (2 hour paper) I sat with my head down humming the Alton Towers theme tune for an hour and 20 minutes.

Good times.

Just finished doing my BTEC National Diploma (Software Development) and now I'm off to uni...Slacking pays off :D
