View Full Version : Going Back to School, what supplies should I get?
Giving University another shot.
What supplies should I bring? Not living in dorm.
What essential supplies should be in my bag at all times?
Blue pen, black pen, paper, calculator, pencil, sharpener or lead, eraser, and a highlighter. I also have a red pen, though it's not necessary.
A day planner would probably be helpful, but I've never used one.
A multiple subject notebook, a three ring binder, folders/portfolio, a calculator(if you will need it), day planner, and a bunch of pencils and pens.
^Bastard.
Oh yeah Day player, thats a good one.
What about in my bag?
-chap-stick
-hand sanitizer
-napkins
-map
Lol dude, you might as well bring some MREs and a tent while you are at it. I am a commuter student, and if I remember to bring anything extra that I haven't already listed, it would probably be tissues or some marihuana.
If you're thinking along those lines, a bottle of water, or whatever you drink, would be a good idea.

Keep a book of rolling papers and a condom in your wallet at all times.

Paper, a manilla folder for each class, one pencil and any textbooks for studying (if at all).
That should be it; anything more and you are being far too paranoid.
Carrying around one pencil allows you to learn the discipline needed to keep track of such a crucial item. Carrying around multiple writing utensils teaches you that each has no value or significance and can be discarded, misplaced or stolen with no illconsequence. That is foolish pride. Take one pencil because it will teach you to love it, car for it and most of all use it.

and in contrast to the above post, i throw a handful of pens and pencils into my bookbag, whatever textbooks i may need, and i usually have a notebook for each class. anything else is modern consumerism and unnecessary. although using mechanical pencils eliminates the need for a pencil sharpener, so +1 to that innovation.

I do agree with this concept and I held to it for Grade 12. However, you need a pen and a pencil for post-secondary school. Some professors require one or the other.

That's a good tip. I've been using the same mechanical pencil since i was in grade 10, almost a decade ago. Wish i actually bought it than jacked it from some kid. I ended up buying several more of the same model later on and gave a few away.
Oh yeah, have a back up in your bag.

This man speaks the truth, I'm goin to uni in about 2 weeks, king slims and rubbers are top of my list, as well as mary jane of course.
I got one of those multi-subject notebooks with the subjects separated by folders. Really cut down on how many binders I needed to carry, which was nice.

I carry a bottle of water and some snack bars and an apple. Sometimes beef jerky. And a flash drive on my keychain. And a mp3 player for when i have to wait for a class.
