View Full Version : Turning a 15" Display from a laptop into a TV

More specifically, I want to turn it into something I can use for my Xbox 360 or really anything witht he standard 3-pin input (not really sure what to call it, but the VCRs use it, DVDs use it, and I think all video game systems past the PS1 use it)
I'm not going to turn it into a projector for them, I want to use the actual screen for it.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

You're better off using the laptop as a slave to run the screen because most laptop screens (read: pretty much all) have a proprietary hookup to the motherboard that limits what can and cannot be done with it and makes using other system's to feed video to it basically impossible. Search through the Tech & Tech forum for threads relating to this.

I would have but the laptop wouldn't turn on.

Sorry, but as RDP said, without a working laptop it's practically impossible.
It is theoretically possible to build a controller for the screen, but you'd probably need a PhD in electronics and a few months of work...it's not easy.
