So I was thinking....there's a lot of loud noises at my work, right? So naturally, we wear earplugs...which got me thinking. My job is of course boring as fuck, and if I had some tunes along the way it would make the day go by so much easier. My co-workers don't give a shit, and my supervisor is a fucking moron who can't even speak English, so I thought there must be a way to disguise a pair of earbud headphones to look like standard old orange-with-black-cord earplugs.
I googled and this was the best I could find

The second ones down are pretty much exactly what I'm looking for, but I don't really want to drop $AUD135.00 on them. Is there any better way to go about this? Thanks.

Are the Discontinued earphones above them already out of stock? They seem like the way to go, especially if they were being used as a substitute and are still available . . .
Could you take an existing pair of earbud headphones and just paint them to look appropriate? Are you watched closely?

Yeah, apparently they're out.

I think this is just what I'm going to end up doing. Bought a can of fluorescent orange spray paint. I'm not really watched and I'm allowed to wear a toque that covers my ears, so all anyone will be able to see is the cord.

if you can wear something over it, why even go with the earplugs, and why not just wear headphones? unless it's a really loud environment. you might be able to use some standard in-ear headphones. i got some at bestbuy made by koss a while back for like $20. those can also be painted orange.

for loud enviroments, you want a security style ear piece

however, bear in mind that your audio PPE is there for a reason :)
the alternative is get a nice pair of 3M or other decent brand large ear defenders (if this is ok with your working practices) and simply slot an in ear headphone in your ear before putting them on.
