I am not religious. Last December I began to spiral out of control and did something that I felt was a betrayal to both God and man. Shortly after I began to feel what can only be described as the presence of a higher being. I felt intense fear at first, but after time my fear subsided. I was lost, and was receiving some much needed guidance. It’s not just voices… whenever I get a profound thought something will happen… a noise or movement of some kind. Almost reassuring… very reassuring and very real. Can anyone relate? I apologize if any of this is confusing and will answer any and all questions.

maybe it will help if you give a specific example. are you saying 'it' guides you? and says things to you?

“It” does speak to me fairly often, and causes me to constantly question my sanity. Sometimes I will hear short phrases and other times I will think to myself, or even speak out loud, and when I reach my point something will happen. I will feel a rush of energy and electronics in my house will react at the exact same moment. Or furniture will creak, bottles will pop, etc. I wouldn’t think anything of this but it always happens at the exact moment I make my point. Literally the exact moment. Even as I type this. I know it’s not an auditory hallucination because I have had others confirm that there is actually a noise. It usually feels encouraging. I will give you an example of a “lighter” experience. While driving last Saturday night I began to question my sanity. Moments later I heard a whisper in my ear warning me to be cautious and slow down. I pumped my brakes and a cat ran out from behind some cars and darted across the street. If I didnt slow down it would have been killed. This happened on three separate occasions. “It” has told me in the past to respect all living things. I do enjoy the occasional toke, but have gone without and still had similar experiences. Good buds help me spiritually. I do understand how that might hurt my credibility.

When you get this profound thought and something happens do you also feel it happen. Like... feel the force causing these reactions. Also, have you ever questioned these voices? Do the voices ever exclaim anything to you? Do others hear the voices around you?

when asked that you have ever questioned the voices i mean literally confronted the voice with a question.

The only "voice" I hear is generally in Winter. It warns me if I'm not paying enough attention when walking /about to walk on icy surfaces. Saved me quite a few falls.

Yes, I feel it happen nearly every time. I can feel the difference between positive and negative reactions to my ideas. I have asked questions, but feel that I shouldn’t. I usually don’t get a response when I do anyways. It is arrogant of me to do so, and I can definitely feel a negative vibe when I begin to lose focus and speak with disrespect. Towards the beginning “it” spoke to me directly to warm me of the path I was on and expressed it’s disapproval of some of the more fucked up things I have done. It doesn’t happen much anymore. Only when necessary. No one has ever heard the voice around me, but a friend of mine has told me she can feel me thinking about her. She actually called me once and asked me if I was telling her I loved her with my thoughts. At the moment I was thinking about how amazing she is and how much i care for her. I have never experienced that with anyone else.

Do you believe it to be intuition, or something more? If something more, what?

I think everybody has their intuitions & premonitions?

How to separate those from fantasy/fears/similarities: that is the question.

A couple of Summers ago I was out walking late one night. Which I very much like to do. Though with the growth in population comes more weirdos/crime. More worries about people & paranoia.

I heard one of the few cars on this otherwise busy street, coming up behind me. It wasn't going particularly fast or anything else weird, but suddenly I was overwhelmed with the fear of the power of the shotgun. Just *WHACK!*.

45 seconds later...:a cop in a squad car goes past. I'd never considered it might be a cop. It was though, a cop driving down the road. :D

I don't buy very good scratch & win lottery tickets though. A lot of shit I think is complete BS.

In my view, the Universe (aka God) speaks to us in many ways, one of which is intuition. Verily is it written, the kingdom of God is within you.

When I am clear, I can pick up on fairly subtle stuff, but sometimes it is necessary for me to get a strong and unmistakeable communication.

It can be extremely difficult for me to do this at times. This leads to paranoia similar to what you described in your story. I was sure I had lymphoma once. I buy shit scratch and wins too. Can't remember the last time I won more than $5. Thanks for the reply.

You're beliefs are parallel to mine. Thank you for the reply... I feel less insane now.

It never hurts (?) (hah!!) to get away from man-made things & go to Nature?

Eg: "Church not made by hands."?

Though I find coming back from outside even just a local wild park is weird. It's worth it though.

I personally believe nature is the way to God. Weird how?

Well, for one human made things all have "Human" stamped on them. Things that are personally owned, especially one's own things have emotions attached to them that can warp one's view of them.

Nature is free of all that.

I used to hear 'IT' for a while, the problem is that 'IT' was caused by smoking too much cannabis and loosing touch with reality, he was more of a friend at that time, helped me out a lot when it came to evaluating my life, then I took some fucked up ecstasy and 'IT' got nasty with me for a bit, that was terrifying for a while, especially at night. I don't really think that applies to you OP but just in case...lay off the drugs.

I know exactly what your talking about OP. In my case, when I let my mind wander, seemingly insignificant thoughts will pop into my head. Usually it is a certain phrase that sticks out in my mind above the rest, even if I dont realize it in the time. Usually this phrase will pop up later that day.

For example, I usually let my mind wander during car rides. I can remember on the way to the beach on day (40 minute drive), I was letting my mind wander and for some reason the phrase "and thats all I have to say about that" popped into my head. On the way home, after I had forgotten about this, my friend finishes a sentence with "and thats all I have to say about that."

My theory is that while my mind is wandering, it is more "open to suggestions"

I have a better idea of what's going on now. Nothing more needs to be said. You guys were helpful, but it was a bit more complex than I originally thought. I will create a new thread or update this one at an appropriate time. Thanks for the replies.

You just might be a corporate slave? Need to go passive a lot for unHolywood product to entertain you? Do you need to go active for screen games?

You well be a dumbed-up dumbed-down dude. Well? If that's your pleasure & your goal: more power to you.
