I have invested money into constructing small underground living facilities in western Canada and America for me and 1-2 other people (chicks, obviously) as well as exploring deep caverns and building facilities deep underneath the earths surface so I can possibly build a society of a better race of human beings for the post-2012 era.

While that could be useful in certain situations, I'm not sure I see the point of "preparing" for a vague and indeterminate "cataclysm" that's supposed to wipe out life as we know it, according to what isn't necessarily the correct interpretation of the writing of a lot of long-dead people.

none the less they are good investments for the time being. Hell you can do a lot of things with underground built spaces. they are awesome.

It's not made up, it's just blown a shit ton out of proportion. There are vague references to Mayan stories of a "new era" coming on 12/21/12. More precisly the Mayan calendar ends on that day. My theory... they extended their calendar over 500 years into the future and figured that would suffice for the time being. If they Mayans never would have been wiped out they probably would have extended it by now.

I was originally thinking of consulting Tibetan Buddhists about 2012, I'm assuming they might know of some safe spots. I also highly suspect that they will retreat into Shambahla for 2012.

Like most conspiracies this one is probably perpretated by the govt. that said, 2012 is the year we vote for a new prez in the US(i know, i know: our vote deosnt really matter). I've heard about a book someone wrote that apparently touched on various fields of science such as quantum physics and psychology. Apparently this man traveled around the world and tried various psychadellics which he claimed helped him reach a higher state of consciousness. Unfourtunately I forget the title of the book and the author but someone said they are going to lend it to me the next time I see him. I believe if anything is going to happen it will be a massive increase in global intelligence and awareness, the gap between the intellectual and the intellectually lethargic seems massive and I believe raising global intelligence would be the most efficient way to create a much better society on a worldwide scale, I believe revamping the school system would help as well.
