What are the ultimate best ways to get good at football (soccer). I mean exercises, drills etc.

I think dribbling through cones is a great one but I'd like some other ideas. I really want to improve a lot. My fitness is pretty good and I have training twice a week but ideally I would have it 7 days! I love football and I want to be as good as possible.

I'm 18 btw and I play left back although I'm right-footed.

Cheers guys

If you're playing footy as a left back with a right foot you need to drop into a heavy defensive role.

If you're at a gym use the bike and the treadmill a lot to build up your legs, but as a defensive player you'll need some top half strength as well.

As far as actually football skills go the BBC has a good section on it all:

Kick the ball hard against a wall and when it comes back to you try to control it.

Also practice play with a smaller ball such as a size three of even a tennis ball to improve your skills.

Just keep playing. Go down to your local pitches and play with randoms, nothing can compare to first-hand experience when it comes to training. Good luck.
