I recently became a veteran, after a short stint with the army, I got out a month ago. I got back to my hometown, and attended my sisters wedding, I moved out to an apartment, and one of the other tenant's decided it would be alright to take advantage of my financial situation and steal over 1500 dollars from my checking account, leaving me with nothing, I filed a police report, and they have done nothing with the case even though he has admitted to it in a letter, and in a police interrogation.
Today I was evicted because one of him leaving me with -500 something in the bank, and I am still trying to get through to the fraud department at the bank.
Luckily, there are programs for veterans, and In the last week I have utilized them to the fullest. I am going back to school with my GI bill, I am getting my discharged switched to a disability *for reasons that I shall not go in to here*, I own a personal website, which is a long way from completion.
The Vet Center is hooking me up with a apartment on campus tomorrow, and all my debt is going to be taken care of shortly, by the end of the next year, if all goes as it should I will be banking around 4-5k a month.
More to come.
