A good friend of mine just moved to a new house and there's this really big garden (he's rich). And me and my crew had this bangin' idea of building a treehouse in one of the trees.

How would we go about this?
Where do we buy wood/nails etc? Any ideas how to transport them without a car?

What's the best type of tree to build a treehouse in?

How would we go about setting up electricity and plumbing in there?

Get an adult to help you transport the materials.

Wood and nails from any local lumber yard or home improvement superstore.

Electricity is as simple as either running an extension cord from the house or using a generator.

Easiest plumbing would be some pvc leading down to a reservoir.

Choose a healthy tree with strong branches, obviously.

Also consider that some tree parts may grow faster than others.
Your bolts and attachment points etc will move over the years, and not necessarily symmetrically.
Think about building a sub-frame that somehow allows you to keep the main building level as the main frame becomes unlevel.

Bolt main frame to tree, use 2x6's to make supports and joists. Lay 2x6 or plywood on top of that flat to make the floor (screw it down) Put up a handrail securely bolted to joists so your dumbass doesnt fall out and land on your head.
