Yeah so I used to never be able to get into anime until I sat down really high and watched this show one day. This show fucking amazes me and I love it, I ended up having to go download a bunch of episodes so I could watch it on my own schedule instead of staying up until 4:30AM to watch it on adult swim because school started up.

Why do I like this show you ask? For a cartoon the characters are so deep and the story is so well written. The setting and plot are pretty interesting and fun. The animation is very visually stimulating and fun to watch especially the fight scenes and the blood/gore. I am about 40 episodes into the show and I have yet to watch an episode I did not enjoy. I really can't think of anything I don't like about it...

I just have a few questions, hopefully you guys can help.

a) Is this one of those stupid animes that you anime kids hate on americans for liking?

b) Are there any DVDs?

c) Can you recommend me some similar animes? I can't get enough of this show.

There are episodes 1-126 on DVD. But, that would be expensive as fuck to buy. A typical season of anime like that can run up to $50 (at least around here) and with five DVD's your looking at $250 dollars. I don't really hate on any anime, unless I've watched it. I haven't seen InuYasha, so I'm not gonna say anything.

You might enjoy Naruto, or Bleach. Both of those are running series like InuYasha. But I haven't seen it so, I'm not the best person to give recommendations.

This is my top 4 favorite anime. The ending blows tho. fillers!

Takes me 2 week and few days to finished watching from episodes 1-167
and all of the movie 1-4.

i myself kinda like inuyasha but, from what i understand, the series doesn't really have much of an ending. i'm not sure if the manga does either.

i'd also say download rather than buy. there's a lot of episodes thar and it would be pretty expensive to buy the whole set. look around on different torrent sites...i think boxtorrents might be your best bet.

i can't really recommend anything that hasn't been recommended here already. [/i]tsubasa chronicle[/i] maybe? i'm not really sure about that or what kinds of series are similar.

And most anime kids I know are fucking weirdos with no social skills and are huge nerds. I don't wish to be friends with those people so I'll keep it in the closet and with my good friends lol. Nothing against you hardcore anime kids though, without you I would have never seen Inuyasha.

It's a decent show overall. I thoroughly enjoyed the third Inuyasha movie, but I thought the other movies sucked.

It was decent but over-hyper and over-rated. Should of not lasted as long as it did. Naruto is worse though...anyway, like someone before me said I highly recommend Rurouni kenshin. If it was my first anime...well, wow. It's amazing in every way and I think it truly proves that anime isn't something "for kids". I bet if you showed it to all your normal friends any of them with sense would agree that it rocks. (Oh, but please get the Japanese version with english subs.)

I got the english version of rurouni because I couldn't find a jap one. It doesn't seem to bother me much but is the big deal the fact that the emotion is just better played in the original language?

My friend also gave me Full Metal Alchemist and Naruto, both in japanese with english subs.

Not far enough into either one of those to draw an opinion though... I'll keep you guys posted and make sure this thread never dies.
