I was at this school for grade 9 then i went out of the country for g 10 and now im back for 11. OK lol i came in from to register at my school( its only bee n 9 months but during the entire school year), when i got in there my guidance counseler(sp?) told me i couldnt register until i got an english and math assesment test so i waited for a week after school started to go do my test and when i got there the people that work told me i didnt need to do a test cause i couldnt have possibly have forgotten a whole freaking language in 9 months lol. Then the next day i went to register and my guidance counseler registered me into the school but she told me that she registered me as a new student and that she game me all the credits for grade 9 and 10 can she do this cause i really dont know, i dont want her to be saying that to just fuck with me and she told that i wont be able to know how many credits i have until november which is too late to change my classes cause i have alot of bullshit classes lol and she also gave me a class for this year to do but its a prerequsiite for g 10 but if she knows wat shes saying im supposed to have already done that class and this is becoming a problem cause my teacher is telling me i have to learn in that class untill the guidance counseller gives me a note that i dont need to do the class. Im seriously considering recording my appointment with her tommorow so if she decides "to play dumb" in the future i can catch her in the act and make her give me wat she said wat she gave me G 9 10 credits Lol into wat kind of trouble will i get into for recording the meeting??

sorry, confusing. can we get a tl;dr version?
high school guidance counslers are notoriously fickle in the advice they are supposed to give..
question? do you think you'll graduate with your class? do you have the requirements satisfied? why did you wait? recording a conversation in person is less risky than on the phone. be firm, do the research one what you want to take and what you need to take, and get in there. fight, argue, but don't be a pompous arrogant asshole.

If you record the conversation she needs to know you're recording it or else it wont hold up in any form of formal hearing.
Usually, the issue the guidance counselor has is that you took a class called "Computer repair" but they don't offer that particular class in your school. Instead they have a class called "Basic Computer Skills I". The guidance counselor can either not give you any credit at all or just go ahead and change the class from Computer Repair to Basic Compute Skills so you get credit even though it's not the same class.
I went to 3 different high Schools so I had to deal with a lot of that. My brother (we're twins. so same graduating class) actually got away with not taking Algebra II since on paper the guidance counselor just gave him credit.
Your conselor has the power it's just debatable on whether they'll use it.
And it's bullshit if they say you wont know until November.
How about you contact your Superintendent and get it sorted out.
Also, Principals have the power to give and take away credits too. Check with them.
