there is a problem with it, it needs a replacement belt.. but still a bargain at $30,
Just wondering is it easy to buy/change the belt?

contact the company and see if they even offer a replacement belt for (hopefully) less than $50.
otherwise, just use it until it breaks.
before that happens, look at the issue point and report back about what you feel is the issue that will lead to failure ...
is it a bad glue bond or poor sewing ? or what?
Hey thanks for the reply.
I have researched the company, Dynafit, and it appears they only sell ski gear?
I have not yet gotten the treadmill, i pick it up this sunday.
I will find out what the problem is for myself, maybe i could fix it.
An email the guy sent me says:
"The treadmill belt can still be used; you can do a little bit further work as we've done a bit, but I don't think it's good enough."
So it should still work, not sure by what 'good enough' means.
In any circumstance, It was only $30. :D
Update.
Part of the belt is peeling and a tiny section is removed.
the brand, Dynafit is no longer making the treadmill, so i plan to super glue the peeled bit down then superglue some thin material onto the missing bit. Skateboard grip jumps to mind.
Also, the belt stops moving when you apply too much pressure onto it, you can still walk and run, but if i add too much pressure it stops, anybody know how to fix this?

look into sewing the belt.
glues are prone to failure.
re: the belt stopping ...
the motor is probably too weak... the result of too little money spent on quality.
Yea, it's all i could afford.
The company is no longer around, but if i buy a random 220volt treadmill motor do you think it would work?

why not a large sheet of polycarbonate you can buy and cut to fit from a hardware store? theyre pretty strong

The existing motor probably works fine - strip it down along with the gearbox, clean all the old lubricant off and use fresh grease.
Same goes for the roller bearings - take 'em out, clean and regrease.
Thats a good idea, i might get some grease and do this,
also for the sheet of polycarbonate, i have never used this material could it be used in a treadmill.
Hey do any treadmill experienced people know what parts should be greased up?
I'm going for the easiest jobs first to find the problem,
- greasing parts.
- fixing belt.
If this all fails, i will replace the motor.
So which parts do i grease?
UPDATE:
I took the treadmill apart to lube it up, and without the belt the treadmill motor ran no problems, if i put my foot onto the spinal it didn't stop.
My guess is the guy who previously owned the treadmill replaced the belt and got a too big size, because if i hold the belt up it snaps down quickly...
Its hard to explain it, but im almost certain its the belt that's too big.
The treadmill is Dynafit, I no site has a replacement belt, the company now sells ski gear.
So my plan was to buy a treadmill belt, with similar sizes.
But belts are min $80
So my plan is to buy some cheap vinyl or similar material to use, and to join it together i will either sew it or, as a friend suggested, bond together with skateboard grip tape?
Im not a skater, but hes certain it would work better.
So, anybody know what material would be most suitable as a substitute for a Treadmill belt, and what would be better to bond it with, sewing or grip tape?

for fixing belt, i saw a thread here that was about a "door spreader" something they used on a COPS episode, but the site that had that device also sold some type of heavy duty insanely durable tape,
i dont know where the thread is, it was pretty recent though
christ, for all the work you may as well just run,
its FREE

somehow between two forums , you are still coming up with lame choices for the necessary belt fix.
Let me remind you that a decent treadmill has 2 or more horsepower, being distributed onto a belt.
A really crappy treadmill has less, but probrably not less than 3/4 horsepower.
Well. without referring to torque/horsepower charts...
I think I can safely say there is no tape or glue that will hold two ends of a treadmill together under the expected forces.
Yea, i know understand it wouldn't work.. im actually thinking of taking a gamble and buying a new belt.
