I loved Samurai Champloo, Kaiji and The Boondocks (not really an anime) But I absolutley hated Death Note, and from watching the first 10 min of Full Metal Alchemist it looks like a bit of a kids show. (What I meas is kids for main characters, which I find slightly unappealing.)

So it seems I am attracted to the more "unconventional" anime. Any other suggestions?

FMA turns out grossly dark around episode 8 if you can last that long. Really twisted, actually.

I watched the first episodes of cowboy bebop and code geass. Both better then full metal alchemist, I did like Code Geass the best out of these 3 but none are as good as Samurai Champloo. More suggestions please I'll dl the 2 the poster above me suggested aswell. Anyone who recommends an anime better then Samurai Champloo gets an e cookie. But I'd say Ultimate Surviver Kaiji is still my favorite aside from Boondocks. If anyone can top those ill give you an e bj.

it's not that samurai x is all gore, it's just that it is more gore. don't make assumptions on anime's you haven't seen. :rolleyes:

One Piece: At first i thought this show looked gay cause i saw it once on cartoon network. Then i realized if i watch it in japanese with subs then it is WAY better. The english version takes out all the fighting and blood making it gay. after watching it in japanese it became pretty much my favorite show.
