I don't know if anyone here believes in ghosts, but there's been one question that always bothered me about ghosts.

If ghosts exist, then why do they concentrate in a few cultures?

I live in the Netherland, and I've never ever heard of a ghost story in my own country. And I've lived in a a lot of places here. No one I've ever met has had a first hand or second hand experience and online I can only find a handful of ghost sightings. While in a few minutes of searching I can find hundreds of American ones for example.

Weird?

We watch too many movies here in America.

OP, assuming your premise is valid, your question is very interesting. I had always assumed that the ghost thing was cross-cultural, and never until now heard of a culture that didn't have some sort of ghostly lore.

All the ghosts (actually, we call them discarnate entities in the trade) I have encountered in my shamanic work have been American.
