So recently, the fenceing in my back yard got blown away by a storm, and i was replacing it today
using concrete posts (12ft) with 9ft wood fence panels etc,
anyways, ive made this thread in the entirely wrong order as ive partially completed it..
Anyways, i've been taking photos of the progress and ill upload them into a small guide that ill post.. it wont be proffessional by any standards but i did it with quick dry cement, stuff ordered from a timber yard and a couple of standard tools..
What did you use, Postcrete? I had to put up afew fences in community service, well I say that, but it was more like me sitting and watching everyone else do it. CS is a skive. Where in glasgow are you from? I'm also a Glaswegian, m8.
Shit, that's a tall-ass fence. Is it just a privacy fence or what? I bet it's nice having a fence that high. I'm a firm believer in the saying "good fences make good neighbors."
I'd like to see how you did those concrete posts. I've only had experience building wooden privacy fences using landscape timbers as posts.

Mark where your holes will be. A good section size is anywhere from 6 to 10 feet. Use a string to assure your posts are in as strait of a line as possible.
Drill your holes. Get a bobcat or a 2-person auger. Drill the holes 3 feet deep and make sure they are plumb.
Drop 12 foot 4X6 posts into each hole.
mix cement. have someone pour as you keep the post standing square and plumb. Constantly check the posts for an hour to make sure they aren't leaning or twisting. Let the cement dry for 24 hours.
Cut the tops off of the posts according to how high you want your fence to be.
Use 2X6 pressure treated boards for stringers. Use long, heavy duty screws to hang them from post-top to post-top. Do the same for the bottom stringer.
Get pressure treated 1X6 fence pickets and nail them level with the top of the back-side of the stringers. Make sure they are as close together as possible.
Nail on the back-side stringers.
