If Christianity is true, then there is in fact a God, and he is all knowing ,all powerful, and all loving because thats what the bible says.

If God knows everything, then he can tell what is going to happen in the future. This means that he knew that people would eventually create all of these other religions, all of which are false assuming that God exists. Even though he knew that some people would eventually stop believing in him, he made this act a sin. He knew that people would eventually be forced into certain other religions, but he still made this a sin. He knew that people like me would need fucking concrete evidence that he exists in order to believe that he is real, but he makes himself apparent only through 'miracles' and all that other bullshit and still makes it a sin not to believe in him. None of this seems very loving either.

People may argue that this is the work of the devil, but how could God ever have allowed him to come about if he is all powerful? And, since he is all knowing, he knew that when he created the universe, the devil would come about.

All of this means that God is an asshole because he knew that certain people would be forced into other false religions and that some people would need real, actual evidence to believe in him, proving that he is not all loving, all knowing, or all powerful, and that he is a dick. That, or it just proves Christianity wrong and contradictory.

Hmm, I'd say a fundie would reply screaming about free will (though it's an illusion). Too bad for that argument there are also hurricanes, floods, asteroids, etc etc.

By God giving us free will, he would have known that that would result in everything that I just described. So if a Christian tries to use that argument I will deem it invalid.

I had a pretty decent belief in god, until last night. I had to go to some bullshit ccd class, and ever student needed a parent with them. Okay.. They told us to be "thinking catholics". Okay... but when we had discussions on "issues coming between us and faith" Every parent gave the same answers. They were finishing each other's sentences, it was like a cult.

I'm going with pascal's wager. Live life as if there is a god, if one exists, your gains are infinite, if not, you lose nothing.

Actually you would lose something. You'd lose your ability to think for yourself and make rational descisions based on logic because by living life as if a God truly exists, that would require modeling your entire life and belief system according to whatever is demanded by that particular religion.

I'm just going to live a good life, helping people as I see fit.
