Im thinking black, long sleeved button down shirt, Black slacks, red tie.

Mom thinks white shirt, tie, black pants. I dont really like this, since I want to match. I dont think it would be nice if I showed up in a cheerful white shirt. I think funerals should be deserving of sorrowful colors.

White doesn't equal cheerful. White is acceptable in pretty much any occasion. White is the staple shirt color for any outfit in any situation.

In some cultures white is the colour of mourning. Go for the white. The black + red could end up looking a little emo (depending on how you look).

Just dress respectful, no one is going to be paying that much attention to you unless your a pallbearer.

My condolences.

I've had to be the pallbearer five times, it sucks but is at the same time a nice thing to do. It provides closure.

Although you may feel like that the whole congregation is looking at you and your five buddies, they're not. In their hearts and minds they are saying a final goodbye to deceased.

Just don't fucking trip.

You don't have to stand out or anything, I would just go with the generic funeral look (white shirt, black tie, trousers and shoes). It's up to you.

From experience, it seems that it's appropriate to wear a jacket as well, when you're a pallbearer.

If you were a pallbearer at my funeral and showed up in that shit, I'd probably lift up the casket lid as you were carrying me and start slapping you.

Black suit, white shirt, black tie, black shoes.

This and only this.

Go with your idea.

This is providing that your red tie is a deep, dark red.

Go with your mom's idea if that tie is black and you will be wearing a black jacket.

Generally in our society, wearing black is reserved for the widow, so a white shirt, whatever colour tie and black pants should be fine.

Most people would consider smart white shirt, black tie and smart dark trousers to be the non negotiable funeral wear. if you have a dark suit or a smart dark jacket to go with your smart dark trousers then wear this too.

wear smart black shoes. polishing them well is a good way to show that you have made an effort to create a respectable appearence.

I hope the funeral goes as well as it can, and that you can ignore the trolls in this thread
