So my ex-gf finds out that I carry a pocketknife on me wherever I go and got really freaked out. She lives in a very rough area, I ALWAYS carry something I can use to protect myself if I get attacked. She won't talk to me now or anything.
I think she is spreading a rumor that I pulled the knife on her...because I have been constantly getting calls on my cell phone from a mysterious number, and a few withheld calls as well. The only people that ever call me from a withheld number is my ex or her friends.
I paid this cellular investigating website about ten bucks for a reverse search report on the mysterious phone number that won't stop calling me. I should get the results in about 48 hours, but I'm pretty sure its her bitchy friend. Is there anything I can do about this? My ex has a shitload of friends that hate my guts, who will believe anything she tells them about me. What should I do if I start getting threats or harassing calls?
I don't think this is likely, but what if the worst case scenario is that the police come out to my house and arrest me? Is there any way I can get convicted? I mean, she doesn't really have any way to prove that her lies are true.

Change your phone number, stop smoking meth, don't ever talk to her or any of her associates again.
And stop carrying knives around.

I don't know where you live, but in the United States, it's not illegal for an adult to carry a (3" or less blade, in most places) knife around as long as you don't menace anyone with it.
You can probably get in trouble if you carry it at school...that happened to me when I was a sophomore in high school. Someone ratted to a counselor, who ratted to the dean of students, who called me in to his office, accused me of having the knife, threatened to search my bag, threatened to call the cops, finally found the knife, and threatened to call the cops again because of the bullshit known as "zero tolerance." I ended up getting off with having to spend the afternoons on the three half-days while we were taking the ACTs cleaning up around the school.
Note that the above was when I was a kidiot. For non-kidiots, carrying a knife around for the chance that you might get jacked is just plain silly. Get a gun. If you don't want or can't get a gun, there are a lot better things to protect yourself with, like a collapsible impact baton.

If you get one you'd better know how to use it safely. It's not hard to kill or paralize someone with an ASP. Most places ASP's are considered a dangerous weapon, illegal to carry concealed. If you don't care about all that make sure you get a brand name ASP and not some knockoff. It cost a lot more but it's well worth it in the long run.

Get mace/pepper spray. It's easy to use, fast acting, non-lethal, effectively disables an attacker, can handle multiple people, can be used on animals etc.

effectively disables an attacker
Wrong. The only thing it will do against a determined foe is stun them for a couple seconds and really piss them off.

I have some ordinary pepper spray (you know, the kind sold to civilians at just about every department store). I wish I could get mace because its far more powerful, but I guess its illegal here unless you are a cop? Anyway, I remember reading somewhere that some people are "immune" to ordinary pepper spray, and that its usually just good for dogs.

whats the reverse lookup website?
http://www.ussearch.com
There are literally tons of sites like this, but some can be rather shitty so be skeptical before you fork over your money. I can't say I was too satisfied with ussearch, i basically wasted nearly 25 bucks for information I could have found on Google for free.
It seems like a scam to me. Get this: you pay like $10 or so for the initial search, and it brings up the cellular carrier name, the city of where the phone was activated, and the first name of the person who has the plan. But when you click on his first name, the site will say something like "Address and last name unavailable, but for an additional $14.95 we can do a more detailed search.". I tried the detail search that is supposedly guaranteed to have results within 72 hours, I still have no results and I submitted it nearly 3 weeks ago.

I can't really believe this is over a knife. Anyways, cut all connections to that woman and her friends. Stop taking knifes with you since it won't do you any good, might even get you killed. Muggers are usually hit-n-run on women and with men they'd either sneak up on you from behind or close in on you with a group. Just hand them over your stuff. That said, never take to much stuff/money with you if you're going into a dangerous area.

Sue her for Libel and Slander.
You can even sue for defamation of character and if the cops get involved because "you pulled a knife" on her then you can sue for false imprisonment too.
And don't forget about pain and suffering.
Cases like this are not that uncommon and it's fairly easy to win.
The only problem you have is that you "think" she's spreading lies. That's Here-Say.
If you can record a phone call where she tells someone you pulled a knife on her or if you can find a note that she made with her claiming something about you that is untrue then I think you should have a field day and put the bitch in her place.
I really don't like drama.
