Peroxide*
Man I had some residue on my fingers, accidentally licked my finger and yum! It tastes like.. some kind of delicious strong salty spice. If it wasn't so toxic I'd definitely sprinkle a bit on chips. It tastes a bit like chicken salt, except like.. more acidic. DELICIOUS!

It always smelled like something that should taste good, but I always tried to be compulsively careful... I don't think I ever even touched any except when I was cleaning out beakers.... Thanks for the update!

One guy snorted his AP on accident thinking it was a drug and then tried to burn test the drug... but he didn't die... and I don't think I have ever seen anything on the LD50 of AP... Being a peroxide, its bad yes, but it might catalytically decompose from enzymes and shit into acetone and oxygen or something again... then you would just have the LD50 of acetone to worry about...
And ortho-mononitrotoluene smells like cherrries, so maybe you should taste that too . . . it would benifit our overall gene pool . . .

Actually death snuggle ingested his AP ... guess he's lucky for not trying to smoke it.

I always really liked the smell of AP, it smells delicious but iv never had any desire to put it in my mouth! I'm obscenely paranoid about chemicals or anything for that matter on my hands.

Antifreeze tastes sweet, but that doesnt mean I pour it on my ice cream.
Although, this gives me an idea for prank potato chips. :D

I believe you are right, and there are trace amounts of acetone in the body naturally.. so its safe in moderation!

I've been eating antifreeze for years... in fact you've probably ingested a good bit of it too.
it's called propylene glycol.

Antifreeze here is ethylene glycol. Porpylene glycol you can eat, ethylene glycol will kill you, and not very pleasantly, either. Some bad people use it to poison stray dogs and cats, and that is a horrible way for an animal to die.
I have a cool chemistry book called "Why is there Antifreeze in My Toothpaste?" And one of the main points it stresses from the beginning is that we often talk of properties more than we talk about acutal chemicals. You shouldn't ask "Why is there antifreeze in my toothpaste?" But rather, "Which antifreeze is in my toothpaste?" Because even commen chemicals like NaCl can and are used as antifreeze, but they arent commonly thought of as such.
All i'm saying is . . . know your chemistry.

You don't put antifreeze in your engine, either.

Iv learned a few times the hard way that just because something smells or looks nice you shouldn't always put it in your mouth.

Thanks for missing my point. Wiseass. <_<
Wasnt there a thread a while back (2-3 years ago) where someone put the tiniest amount of AP in their mouth, and lost like 3 teeth? I know it happened somewhere, and im pretty sure it was here.

Maybe cause it went off in their mouth, and just removed the teeth on it's way out?

Don't put words in my mouth, I never said anything about any engine. There are a lot more applications in chemistry for cryoprotectant solutes in solutions than putting ethylene glycol in your radiator.

We'll you CAN put nacl in your engine......but it isnt advisable for long periods of time :)
They put water in with the oil for the methanol-burning drag cars.....
They just drain it+ flush it asap after the race(like 20 mins)
