I just got a letter in the mail from the MVA (Maryland Vehicle Administration or something like that) that says my license is suspended as of 10/07/08 and that I have to pick up an official delivery letter from the post office. About january or so, I got a ticket for speeding (officially 54 in a 45) which was dismissed on a PBJ on the stipulation that I don't get another ticket for either a year or the rest of my provisional license period (My state has a graduated license system). About a month or month and a half (dunno exact date) ago I got another ticket (officially 46someodd in a 35) which was paid for within two week after receiving.

I can't, for the life of me, figure out why my license is suspended. The judge who gave me the PBJ said that if I got another ticket, I'd merely get the points and fines from the first one as well. Can anyone tell me what I did that gets a suspended license?

I think it's probably something to do with driving too fast.

Call and ask?

I can't believe you go pulled over doing 9 mph over the speed limit, and then again doing 11 mph over the limit...

... that's ridiculous.

Well, where I live is really rural, so it's not like I'm driving in suburbia doing fifty. They're country roads.

And @ Issue: I mean to get it suspended rather than what I understand to be the usual just resetting of the provisionals that I see everyone else getting in the same situation.

^^^Yeah I was just being a dick.

You should have a right to know precisely why your licence was suspended, as well as a right to defend yourself from any charges.

How old are you? I know some states are cracking down on underage drivers and 2 tickets, depending on you state laws, could warrant a suspension for someone under 18.

Always remember, there is NO unwritten rule about driving 10 over or 5 over or even 1 over the speed limit. Don't ever trust that bullshit no matter who tells you. And anyone that thinks there is some unwritten rule or thinks they should/will be left alone if they aren't over by too much, is an idiot. Or so new to driving they haven't been fucked with for it yet. Either way, best ot just avoid it if possible.

Here's to hoping it works out for you. Get them suspended is a bitch.
