im currently looking at two different pistols, and am having trouble deciding which to get.

Im stuck between the Sig P220 .45ACP and the Kimber Eclipse Custom II 10MM Auto

Anyone have any reason that they think one is better than the other? Anyone have any other related oppinions?

Have you priced 10mm ammo?

Enough said.

its not a lot more expensive than .45 ACP here. at the local gun shop it is about $2 more per 50 rounds.

.45 ACP just groups better. Go with that. Don't bother with odd calibers.
Not to mention availability, less recoil, etc.
Once it hits the bad guy it's not going to make that much of a difference. If it's his lucky day he'll be gone.

How much are they charging? Cheap .45ACP FMJ can usually be found for $15-18 these days. 10mm is more like $23-25.

Handguns must be shot a lot. Generally if you aren't doing 100 rounds per outing through a semi-auto you're not doing enough in my opinion. When you shoot a high volume, even a $4 or $5 difference in price per box adds up very fast.

on paper, the 10mm is a great round. its just too damn stiff/muzzle flip.
