I was shown this video about this guy years ago in my 8th grade science class, by a teacher, for lack of a better term, was pretty weird for a science teacher. I just recently thought of it again and went looking for it on youtube and thought you guys might be interested.

I thought of the video again because of my growing interest in acupuncture and other Eastern ideas.
What are your thoughts?

Very interesting!!
When I was a kid my parents had close friends that were missionaries in Borneo.
One night they came over to the house with pictures and baskets and other pretty cool stuff. Well they told us a story about how they went to visit a a tribe that had not had much contact with the outside world.
They have a meal and John is telling them about Jesus and shit and then the "witchdoctor" says his god is stronger and points to nail on the ground and it shoots through some guy he was pissed at!!
They both saw it and were freaked!I thought the story was bullshit or maybe the food had something special in it but now Iam not so sure.
btw they always used the term "witchdoctor",even when I was a kid it sounded derogatory they also said that witchdoctors practiced voodo.even at 12 years old I knew people in Borneo didn't practice voodo.
Oh well good vid anyway:)

He said something about meditating to make your body use chemicals the same way electric eels do...or something like that. It was a 4 years ago, but I remember him not really knowing what he was talking about. He believed that western science had a long ways to go and that was just his attempt to explain it.
He genuinely believed that this guy could do what he said he could.
I should clarify that he had the whole program on VHS, and it looked like he had it a while. He didnt just pull up youtube and say "hey kids look at this!"
He was awesome at teaching physical science though.

Your parent's missionary friends may have just been ignorant. For most people voodoo, magic, witchcraft etc.. all have the exact same meaning.
Considering they were Missionaries(christian I am assuming), any form of mysticism or shamanism is extremely evil to them, so I can understand why they said it in a derogatory fashion. Great story though
