Some Friends and I want to go to Banff and do some manly shit, including going up a moutain hiking and playing Into Thin Air. Those who have been to Banff, where would you suggest we go hiking and perhaps camping in November?

I would suggest you don't. It was rather cold when I was there in october a few years ago. I would guess there is a fair bit of snow by november...

If you're gonna do it, be prepared. None of this, "oh we'll just man the fuck up" shit. Hypothermia don't give a shit how long your chest hairs are.

Of course dude. I didn't drop 200 dollars at the Moutain Equipment Coop for nothing.

The only issue is finding a campground. Most of them close...today.

If you're going backcountry camping, make sure that someone knows where you're headed.

Moutain Equipment Coop has some crazy camping/survival gear. I've never seen another shop that can compare.

I think you should check out some hot springs while your up there.

I go every winter to snowmobile, and I'd have to say the hot springs are very nice

Yeah MEC is truly one of a kind. I've spent hours in their Victoria store just gawking at all the awesome gear they have.

Sunday is the best party day in Banff. T&A (Tommy's and Auroras), or Tommy's and the Rose & Crown for some live music, makes for a hell of a night.

Double your Money Wednesday's are a blast at Auroras.

The Devil's Gap isn't that fun of a spot, but it's always full of good people. It's the only metal/punk bar in town.

Wild Bill's can be a fun time, especially if there's a concert in town. I think Matt Good and Chris Cornell are going to be up there soon.

The HooDoo is a wicked fun time, but it's just a run of the mill club.

The only thing I remember when I went to banff is that it really stank like sulfer. Thats it.

Yeah, the hot spring fountain smells like sulfur; however, that's the only spot that smells like bad eggs.

So I guess tickets to the Cornell show can only be won through a radio station in Calgary.... FUCK!

Oh well... it's not like it's Soundgarden playing.

I just like partying in Banff.
