I've been using my laptop to log into the wireless at the hospital that i work in. I haven't really had any problems till recently with the connection.
What happens, when the wireless is working for me is that i turn on the laptop and it automatically connects to the hospitals wireless signal. Then i click on my browser and it takes me to a hospital login page. I type in the password that changes daily, and then i'm set for the rest of the day.
What started happening yesterday was that, when i turned my laptop on it automatically connected to the hospitals wireless network but it only shows that its limited or no connectivity. I have excellent signal and have not had problems with it before. It wont take me to anywhere on my browser or connect to anything.
Is there a chance that they have banned my laptop from the network? and If so how can i change this. Please respond... Until then i will continue to read..
Thanks guys

means that they banned your mac address,
or its the incorrect password
or your computer does not support the encoding.
ie.
WPA,
WPA 2
WEP, (not sure of the exact names, but those are pretty close)

probably not.
you'll have to ask the administrator of the wireless network to unblock your MAC address.
or you can try access the firewall/router/ settings yourself.
were you downloading alot of stuff on the connection?
are you authorized to use the connection?

Get onto an official hospital computer,
open a command prompt and type
ipconfig /all
Look for a MAC address, since you are using the wireless network the ideal MAC would come from a wireless adapter, but an ethernet MAC may work.
Write that number down.
On your laptop install a program that can change your MAC address. There are plenty of free programs out there, but I prefer SIW.exe (System Information for Windows) made by Gabriel Topala because it can do so much more.
Open SIW.exe, click tools and then MAC address changer. Choose your wireless adapter and enter the MAC you wrote down earlier.
Now it appears as if your laptop is the official computer you used earlier.
Depending on the network setup, your internet may not work (or the official computer's internet) may not work properly while the other is using the network... but it should work quite well 90% of the time.

If he had his MAC blocked, then he wouldn't be able to associate with the AP. If he didn't have the right password, he wouldn't be able to get any connection at all, and if his computer didn't support it he wouldn't have been able to do it previously.
More likely the problem is the fact that vista turns off the wireless adapter every few minutes by default to save power. Might want to try that.

i'm running xp, and it wasent that i was downloading alot of things i think its just the fact that employees are not allowed to use the internet here. The wireless is for patient families. I'm going to try blankman's method tonight and see what happens.

and what does a mac address look like. Because i don't see anything that is showing mac on it.
Its showing 3 sections
Windows ip configuration
ethernet adapter wireless network connection
and
ethernet adapter local area connection (because i'm plugged into their network to work)

its a bunch of random numbers and letters

ie.
something like that.
i have a wireless router,
and when the encryption changes and if a laptop doesn't support it, it goes limited or no connectivity.
same shit as the wrong password. when you connect at the wireless page. (not when you put the password in, in the browser)

In the command prompt it will probably be listed as "Physical Address"
I should have mentioned that in my other post.

you can run a packet sniffer to find an unblocked computers MAC address.

Its really more work then just my one sentence answer.
Download Backtrack distro and burn it to a cd. Run wireshark. When you find a client that is using the AP you want, wait for it to get off, then change your MAC to the clients MAC.
