I made this thread because i had a project on "Cartoon Issue of Europe" (i know the title seems gay blame the teacher or suggest a better one ;))

Anyway, after seeing countless images of Muhammad (which in reality are just the reflections what west sees the Prophet (PBUH) in modern times) i have come to a simple conclusion.It's all a big misunderstanding and certain parties used this misunderstanding to incite hatred and get there hidden agenda's through.

The images were in fact first published in Egypt with little or no reaction from the Muslim community (which really surprises me) and then the chain continued and it never did end.


So, i need your honest unbiased opinions about this and please if possible answer the following questions or add more if you like;


What do you think of Muhammad (PBUH)?
Was the reaction from the Middle East right (Riots)?
Did the Muslims in the West did the right thing (Only protests)?
Was all this a conspiracy? (In others words showing that Muslims are terrorists and war in Iraq is justified --> 2005)
Should freedom of speech be restricted (when it comes to religion)?
What would have been the best approach to resolve the issue (what kind of policy to adopt or make)?
Were the actions taken by the Newspapers justified? (keep in mind the Danish Newspapers did turn down the offer to print Jesus Christ pictures because he thought it might offend people ???)
Was this an act of racism shown by the west?
What is the end result of all the struggle put forth by the Muslims?



Now, i know the questions are a bit too much but it will be quite a big help you can give your point of views, keep in mind i don't get offended (see the reg date) so calling names wont affect me.

Nope, not really my project is finalized but i just want to compare my ideology with others and also even if want to copy things from here i can't because i have to link Totse in the reference section which i can't.

No opinion on the guy--neve met him, as far as I can recall--but I would say that the Sufi branch of Islam is the most highly evolved of the Abrahamic religions, particularly as expressed in the poetry of Rumi.

You honestly can't blame non-Muslims for having that image of Mohammed because Islamic books (read: the Hadiths) portray him exactly as that. The same way Muslims have no right to bitch about Salman Rushdie's The Satanic Verses because the story is right out of the Hadiths. Funny thing is that the Hadiths are in direct contradiction to the Qur'an.
