ok i want to make science experiment using hydroelectric power. basically i just need it to run a light bulb. i was reading about using an old fan motor to use as a generator. unfortunately i cant find the old thread i was lookin for.
so im gonna just straight up ask you guys how to do it. and i googled a little but im still at a loss for some good info.
i was wondering if ac power would work but i read that its hard to save it up. but would i have to convert it to ac to run the light? all these things and more would be greatly appreciate if they got answered. .. so ... rock it out for me.

Afrotech to the rescue. (http://www.afrotechmods.com/cheap/LED_flashlight/LED_flashlight.htm)
You could also use an old computer fan with a few diodes.

Simplest! WTF, make me a stepper motor and tell me it's the simplest hand cranked led light. It's only simple because it's using a stepper motor which they have ripped from something.

google "SmartDrive generators"
make power out of a old washing machine
What type of turbine/water wheel are you using? Generator choice depends on the speed. A computer fan may work with a turbine similar to a propeller.

im not actually gonna be posting any form of help just a couple of thoughts
Could you power some form of.. device to pump the water back up to the top and make a self sufficient dam?
Also, try making a bigger one and see how much power you could get out of it?
