Just curious; why did my laptop utorrent connection went through a local connection, then remote connection before it reach outside connection ? Is it something firewall related or what ? Btw, I'm torrenting on guest account.

tl/dr:

utorrent---> 111.0.0.1:61111 (local add)---> 111.0.0.1:2040 (remote add) ----> free world.

Why won;t my utorrent just connect it's listening port to free world directly ?

Hey, I am not trolling here :mad::mad:, really I want to know why is this happening ?

Under my AVG > Utilities > Connection, I can see my utorrent is going through 2 addresses while listening, why ????:mad::mad:

Maybe you should ask the people who wrote uTorrent? I mean, how would we know why they made decisions?

It could be that the two different ports are for "legacy" versus "non-legacy" connections. Some torrent clients can only connect within a narrow range of ports. It's usually best to disable legacy connections and use encryption, however, IMO.

no, I mean why the listening port is connected to another internal remote address before it's going out ?

like for other incoming connections, it's local address (111.0.0.1:2111)-------> remote address (123.12.11.122),

but my listening port is connected to another "remote address" which is actually a local address. (111.0.0.1) being my local address. I don't understand why ...
