I just joined the Army and will be heading to Fort Knox Kentucky for basic October 21st. Just wondering what it's like there, if it's any harder or easier than any where else, general stuff of that nature. What's the weather like in Kentucky 'round this time?

HOLY SHIT! plehem. You joined the army? what is your MOS? Please say 13b. I hope you can come to fort carson, i want to meet your ass.
I went to ft leonard wood, so I don't know about fort knox. There was some 13b's that went there in my AIT, and they said it was pretty tough. The roadmarches were hell they said. Marching up hills with obnoxious inclines don't sound too fun.
Oh yeah, it's probably going to get cold as shit. You might even see snow. Actually, you WILL see snow. Only wear your lightweight poly pro's if they even let you. You don't want to start sweating in the cold.
Yes drill seargent, no drill seargent, at ease, and you will be done in no time. After the first 3 weeks at basic, time flies by. Just don't go and get all "suicidal" or you will be stuck at reception forever.
Never ever say sorry or thank you to a DS. They hate that.

It really all depends on where you go and what your MOS is.
If you are a combat MOS, then yes, they are going to be alot harder on you. Not so much for the support MOS's. It also depends on the drill sergeant.
And just because they have co-ed basic training does not mean it is easier, believe me. Female drill sergeants are just as bad if not worse than male drill sergeants.

Reading some of what you wrote in here is what helped me decide if I was going to join or not because we've always seemed to have a lot in common. :) I want to meet your ass too, and maybe after that we can just meet the rest of each other. I don't want to get kicked out for being gay.
I'm going to be doing Power Generator Equipment Repair. I ship out the 21st of this month. I haven't been getting ready AT ALL. I've been busy with this and other shit, which is no excuse but yeah. I hope I can make it through.

lawl. <3 you plehem :)
Well, can you run? Can you do flutter kicks? Can you do pushups? If not, then you will be able to after 10 weeks. Just stay motivated, and don't ever give up no matter what. Don't ever say "I can't" either. There is no way to fully prepare yourself for basic. Even if you were in great shape, they will still break you off. The worst part for me was missing home, and missing friends and family. Trust me, you will find out how much shit you took for granted without even realizing it. Write lots and lots of letters. Every chance you get write a letter to someone. I found that you have to write letters in order to recieve them. It is a very shitty feeling when everyone else got a letter except for you because you were too lazy to write home.
