The other day someone told me a easy way to extract pseudo from sudafed was to grind them into a fine powder and statically charge a balloon and run it over the powder and the good stuff clings to the balloon and the other stuff remains.

Sounds very suss to me but I don't know for sure. Anyone want to fill us in?

Nah I haven't. I should have mentioned that. I did a quick google search and found nothing, but that doesn't mean there is no info out there, I may have just put in a lousy search criteria.

I only heard this late yesterday.

Sounds like horse shit to me, though I do see a couple of other applications for this little trick.................

Sounds bollocks to me. Could be based on some sort of fact, or some sort of technically feasible theory, but it sounds most likely like a lazy tweakers dream.

I was recently accosested by a douchebag crackhead who, in between insisting he was smarter then me, very forcefully and emphatically informed me that it was impossible to make a batch of meth cleaner then 87% on the first pull. He was, I believe, talking in particular about birch method (he mentioned fire extinguishers and ammonia a lot), and I've never dabbled in that particular craft, so I was wondering if there -was- actually some kind of limit imposed by the reaction equilibrium, or if it's possible but just requires the sort of skill and equipment that your average tweaker cook couldn't get his hands on.

87% is a high hope. in the eyes of a bircher. maybe is the use of coffee filters providing filter residue, using sticks found near by to stir with... etc like that. but tweeker dude was probably right regarding first pull on birch. dont use fire extinguishers. ever. try portable air tanks with STAINLESS shut off valves. brass = dead giveaway. =]

edit: another reason may be that almost all birch(ers) dont clean up pse. just grind to dust and stir them in.

Now I'm curious...

What are the extinguishers used for? I've always like the idea of the birch. It just sounds like a fun one to prep and run. Plus, gup-chucking sounds easier than removing the gakk.
