Due to an administrative fuckup, I am currently enrolled as a computer engineer. To use the parlance of our times, fuck that shit. I intended to enroll as an electrical engineer, but now since I'm taking most all gen ed classes this semester, I can change my major to pretty much anything, though i'd like to stay in the engineering field.

Obviously, electrical engineering is in there, but I'm also considering mechanical and aerospace. Are any of you majoring in any of these? Any general advice?

Any route you will be difficult. Do you have to choose your concentration now? Are you required to take the standard chemistry, physics, calc?

Mechanical, chemical, aerospace, electrical engineering are all sought after fields so you shouldn't worry about not finding a job. Except geopetrol engineering, unless you would like to the last guy beneath the ocean with a bucket and spoon trying to get out the last oil drops.

If I were to go back and do engineering, I'd do either biomedical engineering or something like aerospace(and try to work for the military since you'd basically be guaranteed a job/benefits for life).

Those are all kind of different. Like Jackie O up there said, the job markets for all of those are fairly good, so I guess it really comes down to what YOU WANT TO DO.

Maybe you'd like to double major in two of those? Bahahaha....

Depends on what you want to do. I'm first year Mechanical because I'm good at physics and math obviously. If you're good at chemistry, do that. If you're good at biology, do that. Along with what kind of job you want to be doing the options are endless. All of them will be hard for the most part though job options are huge. Best to decide what kind of work you'd like to do steadily and go from there.

electrical engineering i find is the most difficult of all engineerings. i think mechanical would have the most job opportunities and aerospace the least

Lol, being good at chemistry has nothing to do with being good at chemical engineering.
