Aside from the part with the monkeys, there was absolutely nothing wrong with Indiana Jones 4. I can't believe those cocksuckers devoted a whole episode to complaining about bullshit.

dude, that movie sucked. i'm glad they made fun of it.
They've been taking shots at Lucas and Spielberg forever. This new movie just gave them another excuse to do more of the same. The rape scenes were kind of funny though, but that was about it.

I lawled at the Deliverance homage. It's funny how it's a really fucked up scene in the movie, but it was actually hilarious in the episode.
And Cheeba: I stand by my thoughts on Indiana Jones 4. Anyone who has seen the other movies, who can pull their nostalgic head out of their ass, and who can acknowledge that they have shitty memory would have enjoyed Indiana Jones 4.
The most common complaints are about the aliens and the refrigerator:
Complaining about aliens? That's no more ridiculous than a box that holds the power of God, and from which spirits will fly out and kill anyone who looks at it. That's no more ridiculous than cups that will make let someone live forever, or instantly turn into a dusty skeleton. That's no more ridiculous than some underground indigenous temple where people can push their hand into someone's chest like a ghost and pull out their heart.
Him surviving a nuke in a refrigerator? Watch damn near any Indiana Jones action sequence and you'll find him surviving things that should have killed him. Gee, in reality he would have been cooked alive by the heat: Who. Gives. A. Fuck?
I honestly lost some respect for Matt Stone and Trey Parker after knowing they are among the assholes complaining about that movie. :p

I think they are making fun of the people who hate it. They are blowing it way out of proportion and thus satirizing it IMO. I thought the rape scenes were hilarious.
The Lucas/Spielberg/Indy stuff was excellent. The rest, not so much. Kind of funny, kind of formulaic, it wasn't a letdown but I wish I could still have higher standards for the show.

I don't think it's the "ridiculousness" as much as it is the "out of place-ness" of it.

I though the episode was fucking hilarious. I also thought that Indy 4 was awesome. I'll stand with the person who said that they're more making fun of the people who blew it outta proportion.
Also the other side story was so fucking funny, but this is coming from someone who's favorite thing to quote is kim jong il in Team America(I.e; herro and ronery.) so the cartman/butters incident was quite humorous, "Herro prease" and butters shooting everyone in the dick, and how they just happen to get away free....

Maybe it's just me, but that episode looked a hellovalot more like it was making fun of the people that whined about IJ4 than about it raping the franchise. Seriously. Crowds bursting into tears, suffering PTSD and deep emotional conversations?
It's South Park - everyone gets made fun of.

I don't really care what their message is as long as it's entertaining. This episode wasn't that great. It felt like it had two mediocre side plots instead of having one strong central plot.

It was probably the first episode to actually cause me some minor offense (Must be growing up :p). I mean.....how funny can a subject like rape actually be? In honesty the first rape scene was just wrong. The second one with the pinball machine was fucking hilarious and turned me on :o, and the third one was just fucking beating a dead horse.
Either way.....I did enjoy the episode, and cartman said it best.

They were obviously making fun of Spielberg and Lucas.
They fucked Indiana Jones 4 to high heaven.
I'm a long time Indiana Jones fan. That movie does not end the series very well. For all I care Indiana Jones will always be a trilogy and nothing more.
When everyone breaks down to cry they're showing how everyone felt that the 4th movie was fucked.
Then there's Butters. He's the person... and there is ALWAYS one of them... who thinks the movie was ok.
I can't wait for the next South Park. I hope to god it's about Sarah Palin.
I'm guessing it's going to be an "Episode to Nowhere".

I really didn't like it. I felt like it just ran out of steam after the first 5 minutes. Hopefully the next episodes are better.
I lawled at the Deliverance homage. It's funny how it's a really fucked up scene in the movie, but it was actually hilarious in the episode.
I thought that was done fucking brilliantly, I thought the other rape dream things were funny, but the Deliverance one was the best. But this is bugging me, what is the movie that the pinball machine rape part takes the piss out of? I've seen it before but the name isn't coming to me. And was I the only person half expecting them to parody the shower rape scene from American History X?
I thought Butters shooting everyone in the dick was good, but otherwise I thought the episode was ok. Certainly better than most of the episodes in the season though.

Sucked dog shit, last crusade is where its at.
I thought the Last Crusade was the worst of the four. It tried too hard to be another "Raiders", there was no real villain, Sean Connery didn't fit, and the ending was silly and stupid (even more than the aliens in Crystal Skull).
The South Park episode was pretty funny, and I agree with those who think it was poking as much fun at those who complain too much about Crystal Skull as it was at Spielberg and Lucas.

Yeah, most of that stuff is funny at the time of release but it blows the whole "timeless" thing right out the window. They go on and on about a lot of shit no one is going to care about in a couple of years, sometimes less. I've never heard of anyone watching reruns of the news.

Who are kidding. With the exception of a few (like..2 or 3) really boring episodes, every episode of SP is rewatchable.
Well the "reruns of the news" line was obviously a big exaggeration, but as far as longevity, some of the stuff is going to hold up really crappy. Give it 5 years, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are probably going to be (even more) irrelevant, a vast majority isn't going to understand why Mel Gibson is acting so crazy in his episodes, no one is going to give a crap about Al Gore's global warming kick, or know who the dog whisperer and John Edward even are. It even makes me hope that they leave the election alone, If John McCain doesn't get elected Sarah Palin is going to most likely fall away entirely and by the time I buy the DVD it'll be like watching a joke about Jack Kemp today.
I'm going to try really hard to be stop being so negative though. Still awesome show usually. I'm looking forward to Chocolate News more than the next episode, strangely enough.

Butters is always quite lulzy though.
Lately Butters has been one of the best characters, but I'm not a fan of the Butters/Cartman pairing that's been going on since that Kenny Dies episode, they really need to bring Kenny back, the Heavy Metal parody and him dying twice in the past god knows how many seasons. Although I haven't thought that the show hasn't been terribly great for a while, since the 4th Grade episode, I prefer the old episodes where Kenny dies in someway and half the town ends up slaughtered in some way.

Haha...who saw tonight's episode?
It was pretty good, particularly the first two/thirds. All of the "Whassup bro, I'm hardcore" shit was funny, and I always like the episodes that are about the kids in school. I didn't like that Cartman got pwned in the fight, but the fight itself was pretty lawls (I loved the Snatch reference).
I'm kind of pissed at how they let Cartman get embarassed so badly every now and then. In some episodes he's a fucking genius, and then in another he's a moron. In some episodes he can fight, and in this one he gets destroyed by a girl. In some episodes he's fearless, and in others he's a pussy. Kind of a shitty way to treat the character that's the biggest draw for the show. Besides, what would have been a more awesome ending than Cartman kicking Wendy's ass and then saying "Lol, what did you expect. You're a girl."
Anyways, good episode. Probably one of the better ones in the season, but it feels like the writers lost their fucking balls.

Just watched the new episode, thought it was utter shite. One line got a smirk outta me ("like breast cancer sufferers, I've got something to get off my chest", but other than that it really fucking sucked. And the episode seemed a bit too similar to the shop class episode with Craig and Tweek fighting and how it keeps getting put off for my liking. Out of 10 I'd give the episode a solid 1.5.

If you didn't see the humor in seeing an animated world terrorized by guinea pigs dressed in costumes, then you're a cock. Seriously...best fucking moment was when you hear them running and yelling about bees, and you're expecting to see either real bees or some animated ones...but they have a fucking guinea pig dressed up in a costume. Brilliant.
I also thought the usage of Craig was awesome. He was used to poke fun at the predictability of all of the SP adventures, particularly when he just walks away instead of going with them further into the tomb. But the funny part is how his refusal to participate leads him directly toward fulfilling that Peruvian prophecy.

The show has gone to shit, big deal, nothing can last forever, I think last year's episodes were pretty weak too, with a couple of exceptions this season has been pretty unfunny.
I think Matt and Trey should just make another movie and give up on the serie, there's no point in putting out countless humorless episodes that make no sense, that's what Family Guy's for.
Honestly I wouldn't even mind some sort of spin-off serie, or some other sort of show like That's My Bush, South Park is overstaying its welcome, they've pretty much done everything there was to do.

2008-10-31, 17:26
Yeah, that was a pretty good episode. I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed that SP is apparently doing nothing with the election -- that shit is comedy gold! I've read somewhere it only takes about two weeks to make an episode, surely they could have done something. Meh, I suppose that's more Stewart / Colbert territory.
Overall, I don't think South Park is getting worse, just evolving into something else. It's focusing more on storytelling than "ha-ha" plot lines. Personally, I appreciate both, but I can understand why a lot of people think SP sucks now.
I'm torn about this new stuff. They fall back with the same old annoying bag of tricks over and over again, but I still laugh at it so I'm forced to shut up and deal. I hate how Randy is featured so much in nearly every episode, but I laughed my ass off at him last night (I'm late). I think spoofing movies is the lamest, most lazy form of writing out there, and they've done it to death, but I still liked the Cloverfield spoof. I want to find whoever decided to put a dramatic movie soundtrack to every episode and punch their throat as hard as I can, and funny-because-it's-so-serious is wearing really really thin... And I thought the whole premise was pretty funny.
GOD DAMMIT South Park I can't hate AND love you anymore.

Last night's episode was pretty awesome. Definitely my favorite out of the recent batch. The show has definitely changed from its earlier style, but I don't think it's really a "bad" change. They still have their balls as far as I can tell, they just have had some relatively unfunny episodes recently. If they get their sense of humor back, then I've got no worries. And hell, even if they don't...it's still a funny, entertaining show. The characters are so great to watch that I don't really care much what they're doing.
But alas, the best episodes of this season are still Major Boobage (that might be one of the best animated episodes of a show ever, in fact) and Canada on Strike. Let's hope they can give us something good for episodes 13 and 14.
By the way: I thought the Breast Cancer episode could have been awesome, but I hated the ending. Marjorine is still my favorite episode about the kids in school.

I think last night's episode was the best of the new batch.
Definitely had some laugh-out-loud moments, and the shit about High School Musical is so true. I heard about the fad two summers ago and literally had "Wtf, I'm getting old" reaction.
if you disrespect im going to slap you so super hard....
