LOL,

I am in Oklahoma City. I'm considering it. If anyone is nearby/ heading thru this way let's figure something out and split gas.

I'll be there, I went last year also. They had some pretty cool stuff and but then the also had some stuff which was more art/craft stuff which was kind of boring.

Looks like I'm going to be there 10am to 10pm -ish Saturday. Don't know about Sunday.

Likely wearing a white or green "DIY" shirt.

Was awesome. Slightly disappointed that they didn't have any 3d printers this year (or atleast not Saturday, we'll see about Sunday...). They do have alot of cnc stuff though...

Also 10% a purchase at onlinemetals.com and 15% off a purchase at tapplastics.com

Going to see about getting some design laser engraved into my laptop tomorrow, IE looking through my images now.

Edit: Didn't end up going back Sunday... Got up really late and didn't feel like driving so much.

I was there saturday also. There were less 3D printers and CNC machines like you said. The robot battles were amazing though. Do they change what is there on sunday? I thought it all stayed the same. The diet coke and mento's was better than I thought, and the musical tesla coil was also cool. I thought that they had a bit to much stuff that could go under the "craft" category rather than "make". Anyways overall it was great, and a bit better than last year.

I'm definitely gonna try to go next year. The short notice and some conflicting plans got in the way this time. Shame because my GF is from Dallas so it would've been a good way to kill 2 birds with one stone.

Odd... I thought last year was better... The big inside area housed like 30 different things last time... this time it just had a robot fighting area, and 2 robot obstacle courses... and a guy with a really neat flat tapping guitar thinger which I could totally do if I got the free time and motivation seeing as I have a perfectly fine but un-used guitar body with pickups in it already...

The propane art thing was good, they improved their colors a bit from last year I think. Got to meet up with a few of my good pro pyro buddies around there and talked for quite a while. Possibly have 2 more shows this year now :D. Its too bad your not older dk, could have probably helped you get some hands on experience setting up shows.

The art cars were pretty cool, but seemed like their were more and cooler ones last time.

The life size mousetrap mice were hot. Oh and they had a 3 legged dog.

The ponginator robot thing was pretty bad-ass. They played some portal sound bytes and a bit of rick astley randomly, for great effect. You would be far away talking to someone... and suddenly hear something portal or astley and smile and/or start cracking up. You could look around and quickly see who else was reacting similarly.

I got some blurry digital pics... probably trash 35mm pics... and some good digital video... but havn't got the video off the cam... and it would be like 4Gb or some crazy high thing since its completely un-compressed. I'll try to remember to upload it to mediafire or something later, but don't count on me remembering... Its just bits and pieces anyways...

Umm... what else... Some guys from some technical school brought a bunch of cluster computers to show and talk about, that was pretty cool as I have a weak fantasy of building a cluster from un-used boards around the house and putting a sign in my lawn saying I take junk computers and suddenly assimilating tons of random junk computers into some freak cluster of towers of rendering power... You know the one right? Where your desk is made of computer cases and the drawers are un-used drive bays?

Umm... Fuck I have a physics test in like 1 hour.

I think they had everything from last year plus some. Some of the stuff was put over by the concessions, and everything else was out in the barn. I can't think of anything they had last year that they did not have this year.
Also on the guitar music tesla coil thing I thought the guitar was just hanging there for decoration. Someone told me that the music was just speakers and the drums that they had, someone else told me that it was the actual tesla coils making the noise, and then someone else said that it was guitar pickups so I am not sure...

The tesla coils were reallying making that music along with help from the drums and pvc organs... but I wasn't talking about that guitar that was hanging there for decoration.

To the left of the tesla stuff was a little guy with a flat board stringed instrument he had made with parts from an electric guitar.

Last year there was an interactive racing game of some sort projected on a big screen, a hard to describe "3rd person" camera thinger where you would put on a helment with LCD panels attached to a camera on a pole that you put behind you so it was looking at your back... and you would see from that view instead of 1st person... There was a digital finger painting thinger... popular science had a booth and did the LN2 ice cream and "hot ice" demonstrations along with handing out periodic tables and such, theodore gray was there to talk to. There was a homebrewing booth with some equipment on show and people to talk too... 3d printers both reprap and another guy using a similar design... umm... yeah... there was more... I just can't remember it...

I see what you are talking about now.
You have jogged my memory a bit, so I think you might be right. There might have been a bit more stuff last year.
