What do you prefer? I'm not asking whats "better." I like mechanical fuel injection

I prefer carbs. Easy to take out/mess around with, easy to tune and set up. Plus it's something pretty to look at in the engine bay :)

Twin Weber DCOE40s for the win!

efi it can do anything a carb can do and more. more power, more reliability, less complicated.

I'm not sure about injecting fuel (sounds a bit dangerous), but I'm trying to lose weight so I go carbless.

I guess a carb because all the fuel injectors on my 2 strokes piss me off.

But I really don't know shit

Hahahaha I lol'd at that.

But anyways, I'm a carb man because of the raw simplicity of it.

Carbed.

When a carb stops working its usually a cheap and simple fix to get it going again.

When an EFI system stops working it can take days to figure out why it does not work and can cost thousands to fix it just because some little wire grounded out on a piece of metal and fried the computer module.

EFI is great when it is working perfectly but as soon as it fucks up your screwed

You make it sound that way, but I've got to say, mine has been going 265000km and its still good.

Although my car is fuel injected, I would have to say that I would prefer a carburated over EFI any day simply because of the simplicity of a carburated engine. EFI generally lasts longer due to certain problems that carbs cause such as a fuel being to rich, but a carb is also more easily tunable, and serviceable.

Well both are fuel injection ;).

It might depend on the application, but ninety nine times out of a hundred I'm going to pick carbed over EFI anyway.
By the way, there are only a handful of different EFI systems, while there are more carburretors than cans of beer each man is permitted to take to the Bathurst 1000 if you're camping for a week. I suggest some wild man, woman with a swagger, or other catscratch hijack this thread so the topic is which method of fueling do you like most? from now on.

Stromberg Updraft, anyone? I'll take three.

And I love SUs for their simplicity and reliability.

Dont most modern EFI's have a limit to the amount of fuel they pump out per sec/min/hour?

Atleast with a carb in good condition you can rebuild it at the side of the road :)

South Aussie here, so Coopers Pale/Sparkling is a staple.
