On a less biased note- I gotta say, that performance yesterday by the Rays was one of the most impressive things I've seen a young team do. To come into a hostile environment (Yes, Fenway is hostile, in case you haven't been) and whoop the shit out of our 2nd half ace and keeping the heart of- hell, the entirety of our batting order from putting anything together....

edit: And money can't buy everything. The drafting of the Ray's over the past half-decade has been brilliant (thanks in large part to failure and thus higher draft picks). These guys SHOULD be paid more than they are, but they're too young to have much of a say in negotiations. Once they establish themselves further (1, 2 seasons from now) as the league's elite, the Rays will follow the tactics of another Florida franchise (Marlins) and let the greedy ones go. The Red Sox, Yankees, Mets, and Angels will pay for them, and the Rays will bring in new, younger players that they can work with.

Well looks like it's on to game seven. We're fucking choking. And yes game 5 was a good game, albeit disappointing for me, but still I'm not saying the Sox suck. I still have the highest of hopes for my Rays, but whatever happens we still did really fucking good this year, and hopefully it's the turnaround point for this ball club.

Ticket prices have skyrocketed since '04, and your average Sox fan can't bring their whole family to the game. A lot of businessmen go and bring their clients as a way to "show" off their company, and care a lot more about the enjoyment of the game than the outcome of the game itself. Not that their is anything necessarily wrong with that, but I feel like there are more "deserving" fans out there.

The true Red Sox Nation...those of us who agree that the whole mantra of calling ourselves "Red Sox Nation" is gay...those of us who save up paychecks just to afford 2 tickets in the bleachers....those of us who remember that the Red Sox AREN'T supposed to win (they're SUPPOSED to break our hearts)...we're still alive and kicking. The only relevant thing I've heard about bandwagon fans is what happened to the Golden State Warriors and some other teams. After they had some success in the playoffs a couple years back, people started to flock to the games and drive up ticket prices.
