Hello, I am purchasing a used muffler from my local Upull, and would like to know what I need to know about:
Removing it without damaging the new muffler
Removing the old muffler without making the new one installable
anything that can be re-usable
Any vehicle with an interchangeable muffler in case all the 1990 Accords already have had their muffler removed
From the research I have done, a hacksaw should be usable to remove the previous and new muffler, but most of the resources didn't give much advice on installing a used muffler, they only detailed how to install a brand new muffler.
I have experience in automotive work (I have helped replace head gaskets, complete head systems, rods, fuel pumps, alternators, and disable certain "horse power limiting" parts), and will be having a friend that has experience in patching exhaust pipes (the ghetto way) helping with the installation.
It is for my fiance's car (she is giving it to me soon, and I would like to get things done while she is still paying for it :D), and we are on an extremely fixed income, so the cheapest possible DIY methods would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Hella

Okay, I've done more research, and a temp fix I found was to use hose clamps and a soda can of a portion of the pipe from the muffler to the exhaust, so I'm not too worried about that....
The only thing I'm too worried about is that the ties for the muffler that are already on the car may be rusted out (I haven't had a good chance to check), and that they won't let a party of 3 into Upull.
Any advice is till appreciated
jesus christ. Why would you go to a pick-n-pull for a muffler? I bought a new muffler for my car for $26 including clamps and all. Doesn't have to be any specific type of muffler, but you'll most likely want to go with a less restrictive muffler. Just so long as you don't make it sound like the japs are bombing again...
TL;DR
Go to the local auto parts store and buy a new muffler. It's not that expensive.

I spose I could check it out, but right now a used muffler would be better than the one on there now (over half the bottom is missing).
$26 including the things I need?
Damn, once you look at $15 for 3 people to get into Upull, $6 for the muffler, and the gas to get there, we could save a lot of money, especially since it would be a NEW muffler......

O'Reillly's blows. We have one here, but then again we've got like 4-5 other different auto parts shops. I'm not sure what to tell you, but a pick-n-pull would most likely be the worst option. Yeah, a brand new muffler will cost a little bit more than you'd like to spend right now, but in the long run, it'll last longer. If you go with PnP, you'll have to replace it soon. A new muffler will last you a few years.

O'reilly bought out all the auto part stores in my town :(
PnP parts aren't the best option, but it is cheap solution for now I guess
why no more than 3 people in the junkyard? are they afraid that 4 guys are gonna come in and carry off a geo metro or something when nobodys looking?

I have no idea, but they reserve the right to deny access if it's a party of 3 or more people, you can't bring in jacks or cutting torches, and they can check your tool box before and after to make sure your not stealing.
I have seen larger groups, and they will most likely make an exception since my girlfriend has to go in (I think) because she is the only one with a license, and my friend and I are the only ones with the manliness to get auto parts (I swear I need to school her in a lot of things..... At least she pumps her own gas =/)
