View Full Version : Recommend me a Book and House of Leaves question *spoilers*
First I'll ask the House of Leaves question.
******************SPOILERS**********************
Ok so I just finished the book, I dident really like the story about the tat guy but that was ok, But here is my real question. Does it ever tell what the Growl was? Was it just the house constantly shifting like it mentioned? What did they do with the house after Will is rescued? Maybe I will go re-read the last bit because It was a little late when I read it.

Yeah, Whats a good book to read? Over the past year ive read 1984, a few Palaniuch(sp?) books, and some lovecraft, stephen king, almost finished The Jungle. I just have no idea what books are good currently.

There were a shitload of things they never explained. Like what the deal was with the old guys death and all the cats. The growl, I think, is like a stomach growl, and the whole thing where the house makes things dissapear happens then and its like it metaphysically digesting stuff.
The one thing I didn't get but figured they were heavily implying was what happened to the editor's mother. I get that she was raped and later murdered, but why and by who I'm not so sure about.
As for reccomendations, I actually haven't read anything in a while. Most of what I have read is science fiction/fantasy though, so probably not that similar.

Most of it is kind of explained in the side-texts... but all of the explanations are just "theories" that all these fake commentators made up. It's all up for interpretation, which can be both interesting as well as annoying.
And I agree, the Navidson Record was way more interesting to read than the Johnny Truant (tat guy) story.

Yeah, It was a good book but with quite a few holes in it. If you got any good science fiction you might want to rec. I would check It out.
