It would help to know what kind of set up you have.
Not being a jackass...
It'll rule some things out
A pie tin full of water(and now lead foil/flakes), a blowtorch, and a gardening shovel. Unless you mean my full setup in which case I'm not sure what I have or don't have. I'm working in my parents garage.

Hell, I'm still trying to figure out how to turn lead into gold. And no, the 3 smurfs route DOES NOT work.
what are you trying to seperate it from? other metals?
why would you drop it into water?

Is there a lot of lead you're working with? I'm assuming any adulterants would be lighter than the lead, so can you just melt it in a container and scrape the trash off the top?
It wouldn't work too well if you only had a few bb's of it, but a good baseball sized chunk wouldn't be too awful hard if you could do it this way.

Distillation and electrolysis are two ways that spring to mind...
I too am very confused as to why you would drop molten lead into water? For shits and giggles or something more concrete?
I have a problem with flies in the garage so I wanted to cool it off quickly. I have a 2 ounce chunk of impure lead.
