So what is the difference between a medical stitch and what I can do with a hotel sewing kit?

Sterilization, effectiveness, quality, and probably pain.

Ya, medical stitching thread is synthetic, no? Most likely a lot smoother than your home sewing kit.

dont medical stitched today dissolve after a while?

anyway, if my plane crashed on a desert island and i needed to stitch up a wound, i would use dental floss

Fair enough. But is there any reason that I couldn't use regular sewing equipment soaked in alcohol if there was no medical supplies around?

as long as its sterile it will work. would probably hurt like hell going in and coming out if its a rough thread tho.......

Sterilized dental floss makes good makeshift surgical thread in a pinch.

the same way you sterilise other kinds of thread. the reason why floss is good is because nylon is really smooth

Bourbon, vodka, aftershave, mouthwash, boiling water (maybe) or a long soak in some very salty water.

Hard alcohol, fishing line, and a regular sewing needle will do in a pinch.
